Purpose:


The Manager, Scotia Financial Planning (SFP) Product Programs, will play a critical role in delivering end‑to‑end operational execution and governance oversight across all SFP‑specific products and solutions. The role will oversee the day‑to‑day operational support and governance of SFP products, platforms, and client account structures, while acting as the primary owner for defining, documenting, and overseeing scalable processes and controls.


The Manager, SFP Product Programs contributes to the overall success of the SSI Governance and Business Oversight team by ensuring individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed in support of broader business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures, while supporting a seamless experience for Financial Planners and their clients.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:


• Drives a customer-focused culture to support strong client outcomes across Scotia Financial Planning (SFP) product programs.
• Delivers end-to-end execution of customer-facing product programs within the SFP channel, from design through operationalization and ongoing management.
• Define, document, and maintain scalable, end-to-end processes supporting SFP product programs, ensuring clarity, consistency, and repeatability.
• Ensure controls are appropriately designed, embedded within processes, and executed effectively to mitigate operational, regulatory, and conduct risks.
• Establish and maintain governance frameworks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and transparency of program execution and outcomes.
• Identify operational risks, process gaps, and control weaknesses; partner with key stakeholders (e.g., Compliance, Risk, Operations) to design and implement effective mitigations.
• Develop and maintain documentation, reporting, and materials to support governance review, audit readiness, and regulatory expectations.
• Act as a subject matter expert for SFP product program operations, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders and partners.
• Establish performance monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track program effectiveness, identify trends, and inform continuous improvement opportunities.
• Ensure alignment with the Bank’s risk appetite, values, and governance expectations in all activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring adequacy and effectiveness of business controls across operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We’d love to work with you if you have:


• University degree in business, finance, or a related discipline; or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in financial services, with a strong focus on operations, product programs, or governance within a regulated environment.
• Demonstrated experience designing, documenting, and implementing end-to-end operational processes and control frameworks.
• Strong understanding of mutual fund distribution, financial planning, or retail wealth management operations in Canada is an asset.
• Proven ability to manage and execute multiple initiatives concurrently within a complex, matrixed organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable improvements.
• Effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and drive alignment across business and control functions without direct authority.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, governance ready documentation and reporting.
• High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, control, and audit readiness.
• Experience supporting regulatory, audit, or compliance initiatives is an asset.


Work Arrangement: 


• Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
