Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of Scotia Financial Planning by supporting with the planning, coordination, and execution of marketing programs and initiatives in support of the business’ strategies, plans and objectives, while ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are aligned. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will be involved in:
• Champions a client focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Supports prospect acquisition opportunities and projects by executing on the delivery of the marketing needs of the Scotia Financial Planners across Canada, and the growth of the Scotia Financial Planning business line, while measuring results effectively to determine success. Primary marketing areas of ownership include (but not limited to): local market advertising that includes print, digital and out-of-home, direct mail, client events and seminars, email and social marketing.
• Ensures that marketing activities that are undertaken are conducted in compliance with governing regulations (CIRO/IIROC/MFDA), internal policies, style guidelines, and procedures.
• Develops and leverages key relationships across a network of trusted partners which include the business line management team, advisory panels, Marketing, Technology, Compliance, National Supervision, Legal and relevant vendors.
• Advocates for the brand and ensures brand styling oversight is applied across all initiatives to both protect the brand and raise awareness, while driving support and inclusion of the brand’s value proposition.

• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct
Dimensions
• Supports Scotia Financial Planners in the Scotia Financial Planning channel across Canada
• Responsibility for invoicing and approval processes through Senior Manager
• Includes adhoc and shared projects within and across other brands
• Responsibility for surveillance of materials regulated by CIRO
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have the following:
• A university or college degree, preferably in marketing, communications, or business administration and/or 3-5+ years of marketing experience
• Excellent communication skills combined with effective relationship-building abilities
• Effectively works autonomously, independently and with a strong ability to meet deadlines
• Strong project management skills with ability to take initiative to ensure successful outcomes
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence a variety of audiences to new points of view
• Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment that can include varying skills/competencies.
• Strong conceptual abilities and excellent perseverance to solve problems and adapt solutions across a wide range of prospect and client segments
• Strong writing skills, experience in creative writing
• Solid knowledge of creative studio design and production processes
• Sound knowledge of marketing disciplines with experience in Marketing Planning, Communications and Branding
• Understanding of the investment industry and compliance regulations and requirements is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft suite and Adobe Pro
• Completion of industry-related designations/courses preferred:
o Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
o Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH)
• Bilingual in English and French is strongly preferred
Working Conditions
• Work in a flexible standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited travel domestically
