As the Manager, SSI Operations, you will be responsible for the operational and administrative support for Scotia Securities Inc (SSI). The incumbent will also work with other support groups (Investment Support, Retail Service Centre, IT&S) within Scotiabank, as well as external vendors, to help implement new programs and help streamline and enhance processes.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Provide analytical and administrative support to Scotia Securities Inc. business lines, on day-to-day queries pertaining to SSI Dealer
  • Be responsible for managing and updating various working documents and provide monthly status updates to the Director of Operations, SSI
  • Lead meetings with internal and external service providers to ensure the needs of SSI Operations are represented
  • Act as the main contact for the SSI business line support teams and respond to their queries/issues regarding client, system constraints and all other inquiries regarding the day-to-day processing capabilities of investment systems
  • Lead the creation of procedures and process maps for all functions in the SSI operations team
  • Lead creating and reviewing detailed branch communications that will ensure compliance and regulatory system constraints are being met when required and assist with developing detailed requirements for high volume customer data fixes
  • Lead the workflow and procedures for pre and post system enhancement implementations to ensure that proper support is in place and policies and procedures are documented and effectively communicated to ensure smooth operations after project completion
  • Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of business strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, regulatory requirements, back-office processes, and rapidly changing technology to provide effective business solutions and services to the end service providers
  • Provide support to the Senior Manager SSI, Operations

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • A University degree and/or 5-7 years’ financial services industry experience, preferably in a leadership role
  • Advanced working knowledge of VISIO preferred
  • The ability to become familiar with system platforms quickly
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation skills
  • An elevated level of collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
