Contributes to the overall success of the Physical Security / Corporate Security globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Conduct risk assessments by working closely with internal and external partners to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities and mitigate identified risks to protect the Bank's assets.
  • Implement physical security controls and standards to safeguard Bank's premises and provide consultation to business units on best practices.
  • Manage employee preparedness campaigns for physical security incidents by providing workplace safety training, conducting education campaigns, and providing resources.
  • Manage partner engagement, conduct risk assessments and security planning to execute security related accountabilities pertaining to corporate travel and global events.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Undergraduate degree, college diploma and/or equivalent related experience
  • High degree of fluency in English required; French/Spanish desirable.
  • Physical Security Professional (PSP), Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) considered assets.
  • Must possess valid G-class or equivalent Driver's License.
  • Minimum 5 years of security or relevant industry experience considered an asset.
  • Development and delivery of training programs and awareness campaigns.
  • Familiarity with industry security measures, current innovations/technologies, and applications
