The Role
The Manager, Project Reporting position reports to the Senior Manager, Strategic Analytics and is responsible for the research, analysis, and collection of data to support reporting and insights. The incumbent manages the production of quarterly status reports, dashboards, and performance metrics (for PMs) while collaborating with Directors of International Projects, Canadian Branch Projects, and Corporate Premises Projects to ensure accuracy in project statuses and information stored in the database. Additionally, they identify areas of concern such as budget overruns and project schedule delays and assist Directors in setting annual project budgets.
The role also includes driving process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance reporting efficiency through automation and digital solutions, supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Serve as the central point of contact for business information and project reporting for all business lines within the department.
- Prepare all monthly, quarterly, and annual project reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Analyze and produce ad hoc reports, providing actionable insights to project team heads.
- Deliver analytical insights to the leadership, integrating information from multiple systems such as People Soft, BuilD.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for PRS (In-House Project Reporting System), serving as the first point of contact for PRS-related inquiries and identifying opportunities for system improvements.
- Assist the Project Management team with tracking project financials in PRS, ensuring accurate reporting of CAPEX, accruals, actuals, and forecasts.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, including automating report generation and implementing forecasting models to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Support SOX and IFRS compliance by maintaining and improving reporting procedures to ensure that the team is notified of any existing or potential spend overruns.
- Working with the Finance team to provide DPMO support to Real Estate.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with a solid understanding of the Bank’s network and systems.
- Proficiency in financial reporting principles, including forecasts, CAPEX, accruals, and actuals, to support project managers and directors in financial tracking and reporting.
- Experience working with real estate industry documents, including lease agreements and construction schedules.
- Proficient in Power BI, MS Excel, and Python/R, with experience using these tools to automate reports and streamline forecasting models.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with teams such as the Project Management Office to develop performance metrics and reporting frameworks.
- Proven experience in process optimization, automation, and improving reporting workflows to enhance operational efficiency.
- Strong investigative and research skills, with the ability to gather and analyze data from diverse sources independently.
- Effective time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and communicate insights clearly.
