The Global Risk Compliance (GRC) Systems team supports our stakeholders in identifying, designing, implementing, and extracting value from the Bank’s GRC solutions. We continue to build a leading, best-in-class Global Compliance function to maintain customer trust and protect the Bank’s reputation.
The Manager, Product Owner Compliance & AML, contributes to the overall success of Global Compliance and facilitates the Bank’s ability to drive consistency across areas of the Bank globally through aligned and simplified processes, increased automation, and integrated technology solutions to provide a holistic view of key factors for risk management and executive decision-making.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Perform the analysis and development of Business Requirements (User Stories), Data ingestion, technology enablement initiatives, assessing data needs and sources associated with Global Compliance & AML.

Support the Sr. Product Owners, ensuring system development lab’s capacity is continuously optimized to deliver system functionality that meets quality and user requirements, within the agreed timeline and budget.

Provide Operational Support, under the direction of the Senior Manager, for specific requests submitted by Global Compliance’s Pillar Owners, related to GRC systems such as Enterprise Case Management – ECM, OpenPages, Clause match, or others, acting as SME and representing GRC Systems.

Collaborate with delivery teams, performing user acceptance testing, to ensure the product delivers as intended and proposing adjustments to plans to deliver on objectives within budget and timelines.

Partner with the Change Management team to develop a system adoption strategy and continuously enhance training materials.

Create process lifecycle documentation (functional requirements, system development milestones, user tests, deployment roadmap) related to GRC system initiatives.

Be actively involved in the preparation, conception, realization, and Go Live of implementation projects.

Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.

Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:

Graduate or undergraduate degree, with a preferred concentration in technology, business analysis, data analysis, and relevant financial services or risk qualifications. In addition, the ideal candidate should have:

Experience in a Regulatory Compliance, Audit, or Internal Controls role.

Ability to write SQL query statements.

Implementation experience with technology solutions (e.g., ECM, OpenPages, Google Cloud, etc.).

Proven ability to conduct interviews with the business team to drive out business requirements and document Jira stories.

Track progress on projects, deliverables, and resources.
-
Proven experience working with multi-disciplinary project groups.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to develop and implement solutions to complex issues.

Ability to learn and adapt to rapidly changing regulatory and business environments.

Proficiency with web-based applications, and strong skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), particularly with respect to data analysis in Excel or more advanced data mining tools.

Strong time management, project management, research, and analytical skillsets.

Experience working in an Agile environment and transforming business requirements into User Stories.
