Purpose

The Manager – Group Treasury Product Control is a key member of the Product Control team, responsible for delivering timely and accurate P&L and accounting execution support across multiple Group Treasury portfolios or strategies. This role may include oversight and development of peer Analysts and/or the responsibility for more complex portfolios that demand advanced analytical expertise and sound judgment.  The Manager will be responsible for championing high standards of control, analytical insight, and continuous improvement through a proactive and strategic approach.

 

Is This Role Right for You? In this role, you will:

  • Maintain compliance with approved monographs by ensuring accurate accounting for assigned products and portfolios
  • Oversee and ensure the timely, accurate production and reporting of daily P&L across the assigned Group Treasury portfolio.
  • Validate P&L integrity through P&L decomposition and reconciliation of results, resolving breaks collaboratively.
  • Ensure daily P&L is fully reconciled to the general ledger and source sub‑ledgers, with timely escalation and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Substantiate balance sheet accounts and manage the month‑end close process, including sign‑off and other MIS reporting.
  • Produce, review, and analyze IPV, reserves, and fair value adjustments in alignment with Risk Management and bank guidelines.
  • Support financial and regulatory reporting requirements, as needed.
  • Partner with senior management and key stakeholders to support new products and business initiatives within a controlled and compliant framework.

 

Do You Have the Skills?

Must Haves

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Product Control or a related function (Middle Office, Finance, Risk, or Operations) supporting trading or banking books.
  • Expertise in P&L production, validation, and risk attribution, with the ability to explain key drivers.
  • Advanced knowledge of fixed income products, including securitized products such as ABS, MBS, CMO, Covered Bonds, CMB as well as derivatives and equities.
  • Strong understanding of core Treasury activities, including hedging and funding, and related accounting treatments to support the business (Amortized Cost, FVTOCI, FVTPL, and hedge accounting practices).
  • Understanding of bank accounting policies, trading policies, market practices, and regulatory requirements, with a strong control and risk mindset.
  • Experience with trading or banking book accounting, balance sheet substantiation, and/or Independent Price Verification (IPV) processes.
  • Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with a demanding Front Office client base.
  • Demonstrated self‑motivation, ownership mentality, and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, highly accountability role.
  • Working level knowledge of VBA, SQL, Python is a strong asset

Qualifications

  • Formal education in Finance or Accounting (Bachelor’s degree required).
  • Professional designation such as CPA (preferred) or CFA/FRM is considered a strong asset.
