Purpose

 

Part of a dynamic team within Procurement Strategy and Capabilities group that contributes to the overall success of the Global Procurement Services (GPS) globally by ensuring initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the department’s business strategies and objectives. The Manager reports to a Senior Manager and works with multiple stakeholders across the Bank. The role will take ownership of one or more work streams/projects, perform data-driven analysis and contribute recommendations for strategy development. Given the role is project based and broad in scope, this will require creativity, flexibility, analytical abilities, structured thinking, and strong written and oral communication skills. The successful candidate will be adaptable to a range of challenging projects and have a strong interest in procurement, innovation, and financial services.

 

Accountabilities

 

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Responsible for designing, coordinating, and improving the internal and external capabilities of GPS.
  • Executes work across initiatives to deliver sound procurement practices that align to GPS’s strategic vision.
  • Plans and oversees a list of dependent projects needed to reach the overall strategic objectives, including monitoring progress to ensure that milestones are being met.
  • Monitors and analyzes operational data to identify trends, issues and opportunities, and providing feedback to their managers in search of analytical-based recommendations/solutions.
  • Coordinates the procurement projects and their interdependencies, specifically understanding how different projects interlink and overlap.
  • Prepares and presents on GPS strategies/projects using synthesis, data visualization, and storytelling.
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Champions a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates team members by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

 

Education/Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business, or related field; master (MA or MSc) in business or related field preferred
  • 3 + years’ previous experience in program management, project management, financial services, or procurement related field
