Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Enterprise Privacy Office globally, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted comply with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge;
• Performs Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) on new initiatives and third-parties, resulting in the identification and raising of privacy risks to business units;
• Perform reporting and tracking of recommendations/issues raised during PIAs;
• Liaises with technology partners to manage and enhance the PIA Portal, including trouble shooting, bug fixes and planned feature improvements;
• Manage day-to-day activities associated with the PIA Portal (intake tool and book of record), including access and database management;
• Pro-actively identifies potential violations of regulatory requirements, internal policies and procedures in a timely manner and make recommendations to mitigate business, compliance, and operational risk;
• Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions;
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk;

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree required

Privacy certification an asset (CIPP)
-
Background in Legal, Consulting, or Compliance preferable

3-5 years privacy experience preferred

Spanish fluency an asset
