Purpose


The Manager, Performance Enablement, Canadian Banking Transformation will contribute to the overall success of the Transformation Office and Impact Assurance team by managing and evolving the data and analytics program to meet the needs of the businesses and assist in the strategic decisioning and delivery of key initiatives. 

 

The Manager, Performance Enablement, will work closely with a diverse set of stakeholders to help execute on data management and governance, deliver cross-functional projects, and ensure the production of accurate and timely reporting. 

 

 

Accountabilities 

 

•    Assess data requirements across business and product lines, identify data sources, collate data from various sources, and conduct modelling to translate into actionable insights.
•    Design and develop ETLs to operationalize infrastructure on GDAP, SQL, and Power BI Service to support seamless, scalable, and rich reporting and data visualization.
•    Builds, oversees, and sustains weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc data & reporting requests to deliver valuable insights and actionable recommendations for business partners.
•    Develop and implement analytical reporting using standardized reporting and visualization tools (i.e., Power BI) to enable management to make data driven decisions, while tailoring reports to different audiences. 
•    Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
•    Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
•    Other duties as assigned

 

 

Education / Experience / Other Information

 

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Math, Engineering, Statistics or Computer Science

•    Master’s degree in Business, Analytics, Engineering, Economics, Statistics is an asset

•    3+ years of work experience in Data Management, Data Governance, Data Analytics or Business Intelligence related roles 

•    Knowledge of SQL, Python, MS Office (especially Excel) and Power BI for reporting, data analysis and dashboarding / visualization

•    Demonstrates strong technical proficiency and business acumen, with a strong understanding of data fundamentals, reporting software, and business process engineering

•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•    Strong quantitative skills focused on financial and data analysis 

•    A high level of attention to detail

•    The ability to excel under pressure amid demanding deadlines

•    The ability to perform effectively in a team environment

•    High professional standards including a strong sense of personal integrity and teamwork

•    Independent thinker and proven ability to make decisions
