Contributes to the overall success of operational risk management capabilities for Scotiabank’s global enterprise. The Manager is responsible to support developing, enhancing and maintaining the enterprise Operational Risk Management Framework and associated operational risk assessment methodologies, such as the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and New Initiative Risk Assessment (NIRA) programs. The Manager is also responsible to lead or support key projects that improve risk management governance, regulatory compliance, process efficiency, and enterprise risk oversight for Operational Risk programs, working collaboratively with stakeholders and partners across the global footprint to drive these initiatives.

• Maintains effective communication channels with project teams, stakeholders, and senior management.
•  Deploys change management strategies to enable the success of desired project outcomes.
• Ensures activities are delivered with a sense of urgency and arising risks/issues are raised to appropriate leadership.
• Provides project reporting, including regular status updates and ad-hoc summaries of timelines, risks and issues.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

• Undergraduate Degree or higher and minimum 7+ year’s relevant functional and/or technical experience.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity tools, e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc. 
• Excel power users preferred.
• Solid change management skills.
• Solid presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to recognize and comprehend complex issues.
• Ability to build strong cross-functional business relationships.
• Ability to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiency without compromising target state outcomes.
•  Self-reliant and pro-active approach to work.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Spanish speaking an asset.
