As a member of the Model Compliance team, you will report directly to a Senior Manager and be a critical member of a team leading model tracking management, model compliance, and other ongoing governance and enablement activities. You will work hand-in-hand with our Model Owners and Developers for the Bank’s Retail and Small Business forecasting and credit risk decisioning models, and will collaborate regularly with a wide range of stakeholders and internal partners including Model Risk Governance, Model Validation, Global Compliance, Enterprise Risk and Audit (to name a few)!
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Managing and ensuring accurate model-related inventories and information, records, issues management trackers, etc.
- Maintaining evolving team-owned regulatory requirements and controls, risk assessments and other related activities within Bank repositories and control libraries.
- Supporting Business Units (i.e. Model Risk Governance, Model Validation & Approval, Basel & GRM Regulatory Office, Global Compliance, Regulatory Programs & Initiatives, Audit, and Enterprise Risk) on information requests, attestations, and ongoing governance activities related to models.
- Proactively engaging Enterprise-wide stakeholders to ensure evolving regulatory, legal and internal Bank policies, standards and processes are reviewed for impact and applicability to the management of Retail and Small Business forecasting and decisioning models.
- Supporting management and Model Owners and Developers in preparing/delivering action plans, required documentation, and ad-hoc reporting.
- Managing access and access controls for the team SharePoint site, libraries and documentation.
- Assisting with the completion of monthly/quarterly regulatory reporting activities related to regulatory submissions.
- Supporting activities to proactively identify, promote and lead process improvements including streamlining, automating, and standardizing processes.
- Leading projects and initiatives related to governance, compliance, and other risk-related activities impacting the team.
- Establishing and maintaining strong, cooperative relationships with stakeholders.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business/commerce (or equivalent field); Risk Management and/or Regulatory Compliance designation is an asset.
- 2+ years’ experience in Banking, preferably within Risk Management, Audit or Compliance roles.
- A thorough knowledge of risk management, control, and audit disciplines.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, influencing, and conflict management skills.
- Excellent project management, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong fundamental understanding of business analysis, requirements definition and process mapping.
- Fluent English-language verbal and written communications: the ability to distill complex and often ambiguous policies, guidelines and information, and prepare and edit high-quality documentation (Executive proposals, management reports, processes and guidelines etc.)
- Experience with SharePoint administration, MS Lists functionality, standard database management, and strong skills in use of the MS Office Suite, Power BI and presentation tools.
- Knowledge of credit risk models/scorecards is an asset.
