Purpose

 

The Manager, Media Performance is a performance-driven marketer responsible for executing and optimizing Paid Search strategies to support enterprise growth. This role focuses on managing campaigns across Google, Bing, and other platforms, ensuring best-in-class execution and measurable business outcomes such as customer acquisition, revenue growth, and improved ROI. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about search innovation and performance marketing.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Paid Search Execution: Manage day-to-day operations of Paid Search campaigns, including keyword strategy, bidding, audience segmentation, and creative testing to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize campaigns to achieve KPIs and deliver strong ROI across Canadian Banking, Global Wealth Management, and Global Banking & Markets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with journey management, analytics, content, and marketing planning teams to ensure integrated execution and alignment with broader digital strategies.
  • Budget Management: Support budget allocation, pacing, and forecasting for Paid Search campaigns, ensuring spend aligns with performance targets.
  • Measurement & Reporting: Track KPIs, analyze campaign data, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders to inform optimization and strategic decisions.
  • Innovation & Best Practices: Stay current on industry trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies to continuously improve Paid Search performance.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all Paid Search activities adhere to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and the Bank’s risk management framework.
  • Champion Culture & Values: Contribute to an inclusive, customer-focused, and high-performance team environment aligned with Scotiabank’s values of accountability, passion, integrity, and respect.

 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have: 

 

  • 4–6+ years of experience in performance marketing, with strong expertise in Paid Search and SEM.
  • Proven success in managing and optimizing Paid Search campaigns to deliver measurable business results.
  • Proficiency in Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Search Ads 360, and related tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making, A/B testing, and performance reporting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations and integrated marketing environments.
  • Familiarity with financial services or other regulated industries is an asset.

Primary Manager: Senior Manager, Media Performance – Paid Search Practice Lead

Dimensions

 

  • Paid Search specialists focused on campaign strategy, execution & optimization
  • Support Canadian Banking and other enterprise business lines
  • Oversee annual Paid Search budget of 50MM+
  • Occasional travel and non-standard hours may be required based on campaign needs.

 

Other Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., Google Ads, Search Ads 360) are assets.
  • Strong understanding of digital performance metrics, attribution models, and customer acquisition strategies.
  • Passion for innovation and staying ahead of Paid Search trends and platform developments.
