The Role 

 

The role of Measurement & Data Strategist within the Marketing Channel Strategy team is tailored for individuals passionate about extracting insights from data to address business opportunities. Collaborating with global teams and business lines, this role is pivotal in fostering innovation and advancing analytics across the Enterprise. As a key member of the Marketing Science team, the Measurement & Data Strategist will play a crucial role in delivering marketing measurement solutions to the Global Marketing team across Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean. This involves leveraging statistical analysis through regression modeling to expand the Marketing Science team's capabilities and ensure seamless data operations within Marketing. With access to enterprise-level data management tools and advanced analytics, the role presents an opportunity to recommend innovative solutions, enhancing marketing effectiveness. The Measurement & Data Strategist will apply advanced analytics techniques and explore ideas using artificial intelligence to optimize business opportunities. The ideal candidate for this role will exhibit rigorous logical thinking, curiosity, flexibility, and strong teamwork abilities. Positioned at the intersection of math/stats, computer science, communication, business, and customer relations, they will be instrumental in driving data-driven success within the marketing domain.

 


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Collaborate with leadership to align data initiatives with overall business goals and develop a roadmap for data-driven decision-making.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to extract meaningful insights, identify trends, and inform business strategy.
  • Develop statistical models and forecasting techniques to support strategic decision-making processes.
  • Support the team during all stages of the model creation lifecycle. This includes requirement gathering, data collection and validation, model creation, testing and sharing outputs.
  • Effectively communicate data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders, influencing decision-making across the organization.
  • Prepare detailed documentation, outlining data sources, models and algorithms used and developed.
  • Present results to business line stakeholders and help implement real data-driven changes.
  • Assess and implement data technologies that align with business objectives, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
  • Establish and maintain marketing data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulations and internal controls.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of data-driven initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management and analytics.

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to data strategy, ensuring data security, and address privacy concerns.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

 


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • University degree in relevant STEM discipline (Computer Sciences, Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering and Mathematics) 
  • Experience cleaning, transforming and visualizing large data sets working with various data formats (e.g. unstructured logs, XML, JSON, flat files) 
  • Hands-on experience with Big Data ecosystem tools (e.g. Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Spark, Kafka) and experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Hbase, Cassandra, Druid)
  • Programming skills in Java, C++, Python or R
  • Production experience with experimental design, statistical analysis, machine learning and predictive modeling (e.g. cross-sell, upsell, attrition, acquisition, and lookalike models)
  • Experience using and implementing visualization tools like PowerBI and Tableau  
  • Experience in marketing attribution modeling, including MMM and MTA
  • Ability to ingest and work with large volumes of structured and unstructured non-traditional data 
  • Working experience with machine learning and other AI techniques for strategy design 
  • Working knowledge of strategy optimization leveraging operations research principles would be an asset 
  • Strong collaboration skills with ability to translate technical knowledge into business value 
  • Effective communication skills with ability to prepare project documentation and presentations  

                                        
Working Conditions

 

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.  Limited travel domestically.
