The role:

 

This is an important role in Global Liquidity & Funding Management within Group Treasury.

 

The Manager Liquidity Insights & Analytics contributes critical analysis and insights to support data driven decision making for strategic liquidity and funding management. Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will: 

 

  • Provide timely and actionable insights to Group Treasury senior management through the development and enhancement of robust tools to measure, monitor and forecast funding and liquidity metrics within the context of the applicable regulatory and operational frameworks.
  • Collaborate with business lines, trading desks, operational partners, and technical groups to address critical and emerging priorities and ensure data integrity and completeness.
  • Utilize effective data visualization tools to produce high quality dashboards and presentations to communicate management information and insights to executive management in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Take ownership and continuously enhance funding and liquidity front office data and reporting processes, including responsibility for maintaining and enhancing the Group Treasury Management Reporting Portal (GT-MRP).
  • Utilize advanced quantitative and analytical skills to identify and assess potential risks related to balance sheet composition and liquidity risks and produce recommendations driving optimal funding strategies.
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, and the Bank’s Code of Conduct, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

  • Play a key role in the application of technology to enhance liquidity risk management.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant certification (CFA, FRM, etc.) is preferred, either completed or working towards. 
  • At least 2 years relevant experience preferably in Treasury, Capital Markets, or Risk Management.
  • Strong Analytical and Modeling Skills: advanced knowledge of financial modeling and data analysis techniques to accurately project liquidity positions various scenarios. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant banking regulations and risk management practices particularly applicable to funding and liquidity management.
  • Proficiency In Financial Software and Tools: experience working with large databases using financial software (advanced Excel skills etc.), market data (Bloomberg etc.), and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) 
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure: a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in forecasting. 
  • Be able to work efficiently under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
