The Manager, Innovation & Reporting will contribute to the overall success of Operational Risk Program by providing temporary contract coverage for innovation, reporting, and analytics activities. The role will support continuity of key Power BI reporting, data analytics, stakeholder support, and operational processes in alignment with the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Develop, maintain, and distribute Power BI reports and dashboards ranging from simple to sophisticated, focused on key performance measures for the Operational Risk program.
- Design visually impactful, intuitive dashboards in Power BI, supported by efficient data models and queries.
- Develop queries and data visualizations for ad hoc, recurring, troubleshooting, and project-related requests.
- Conduct requirements analysis by gathering feedback from stakeholders and business partners and provide analysis and recommendations to support data model enhancements.
- Support project delivery through database analytics, data mapping, profile comparisons, Power BI reporting enhancements, and data integrity checks using SQL Server.
- Escalate issues to the Senior Manager, as needed, to support timely problem analysis, issue resolution, and management recommendations.
- Support and sustain BI features after release by prioritizing defect fixes, monitoring report usage, and identifying value-added functionality to improve adoption.
- Manage multiple activities in a dynamic environment, understand complex requirements, and meet project deadlines.
- Promote a customer-focused culture that deepens client relationships and leverages the Bank’s resources, systems, and expertise.
- Apply the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive workplace.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement innovative technologies and process improvements that enhance efficiency, strengthen risk management practices, and support the modernization of reporting and analytics capabilities.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data analytics, or a related field, or 5+ years of relevant functional and/or technical experience.
- 5+ years of advanced experience designing, developing, and deploying Power BI and data visualization solutions, including reports and dashboards ranging from simple to sophisticated.
- Ability to translate business requirements into effective data models, visualizations, and reporting solutions that simplify complex information for diverse audiences.
- 5+ years of SQL development experience for data extraction and manipulation, with applied experience in data visualization, data modeling, and user experience best practices.
- Ability to use relational databases for data analysis and write complex SQL queries.
- Strong data analysis experience, including analysis of large data sets.
- Knowledge of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) to support calculation development.
- Power BI certification is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to deliver assigned work.
- Growth mindset, intellectual curiosity, proactiveness, and a passion for continuous learning.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Prior experience supporting Operational Risk processes and metrics is an asset.
