Purpose

 

The Manager, IWM Wealth Insurance, plays a key role in advancing the success of International Wealth Management (IWM) by supporting the implementation and ongoing management of Wealth Insurance solutions tailored to High-Net-Worth (HNW) clients. This position ensures high-quality, consistent execution across Latin America and the Caribbean, aligning with IWM’s broader strategic objectives.

 

The Manager contributes to the development and improvements of operational frameworks, distribution models, and governance processes that enable the delivery of innovative insurance solutions. They provide guidance and support to front-line teams, coordinate with external partners, and monitor performance to ensure compliance and client-centric outcomes.

 

The Manager, IWM Wealth Insurance, is accountable for achieving individual goals and initiatives that support the IWM team’s business objectives. All activities are conducted in strict adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and procedures across the IWM footprint.

 

Responsibilities

 

1.    Support the development and implementation of the IWM Wealth Insurance Strategy


•    Support the design and ongoing management of the IWM Wealth Insurance initiatives across the IWM footprint, ensuring alignment with advisory and planning processes.
•    Coordinate with internal stakeholders to integrate insurance solutions into client journeys and enable seamless adoption.
•    Contribute to the development of training and enablement materials for front-line teams to promote effective delivery.
•    Develop a strong understanding of operations and regulatory framework of relevant jurisdictions.
•    Conduct research and analysis on Insurance industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive insights to inform strategy development and business recommendations.

 

2.    Vendor and Partnership Coordination


•    Support onboarding and management of external insurance partners, ensuring compliance with internal policies and third-party risk requirements.
•    Maintain accurate documentation of contracts, renewals, and governance processes in collaboration with legal and compliance teams.
•    Facilitate communication, training and support between internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth execution of initiatives.
•    Liaise with brokers to provide timely updates to internal teams and ensure accurate reporting throughout the referral process.
•    Oversee third party vendor reporting of referrals, commissions and service level agreements, and ensure it meets the agreed upon compliance and regulatory requirements. 

 

3.    Performance Monitoring and Reporting


•    Monitor referrals, track progress, and support the timely closure of referrals. 
•    Ensure closed referrals and commissions are accurately reported and attributed to referring team members monthly.
•    Act as the primary contact for the onshore and offshore teams, regarding any complaints and concerns and provide timely and effective resolutions
•    Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Wealth Insurance activities, including adoption, revenue and client satisfaction. 
•    Prepare regular reports and dashboards for senior management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
•    Collaborate in the development and enhancement of monitoring tools and reporting frameworks.

Education/Experience:


Experience, Education, and Certifications
•    University degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or similar disciplines.
•    MBA or advanced programs/postgraduate specialization in financial services considered an asset.
•    5+ years’ experience in the financial services industry with exposure to Latin American markets.
•    International certification/accreditation (i.e. CFP, CFA) will be considered an asset.

 

Key Technical Skills


•    Good understanding of insurance and wealth management processes, including compliance and governance frameworks.
•    Strong analytical and quantitative skills to interpret market data, client data, and operational metrics.
•    Proficiency in MS Office (Advanced Excel, Power Point).
•    Working knowledge of Scotia Wealth Management’s value proposition, products, and services for high-net-worth clients is an asset.
•    Strong knowledge of data visualization, automation and CRM tools including Salesforce, Power BI, etc.
•    Bilingual in Spanish and English (oral and written) required.

•    Ability to work independently with minimal direction, and as part of a cross functional team
•    Ability to work as part of an interdependent team and individually when required. Works well with autonomy and is an excellent communicator in a modern, flexible work environment
•    Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
