Purpose :

The Manager, Platform & Guided Investing supports the Platform & Guided Investing vertical within Scotia iTRADE Product & Strategy, with a primary focus on guided investing strategy, discovery, and business casing. The role helps identify, size, and shape opportunities across guided investing, planning, and advice-adjacent experiences, while supporting the end-to-end ladder from self-directed investing into advice and Wealth.

This role is accountable for translating strategic direction into discovery plans, opportunity assessments, business cases, decision-ready materials, and execution recommendations for Digital, Technology, Data, Risk, and Wealth partners. It operates in a fast-paced, agile environment and requires strong analytical rigor, structured problem solving, stakeholder management, and the ability to move guided investing opportunities from ambiguity to prioritization with minimal supervision.
 

Major Accountabilities:

 
Guided Investing Strategy, Discovery & Opportunity Development

  • Lead and support discovery work to identify, frame, and assess guided investing opportunities across digital investing, planning, investor support, and advice-adjacent experiences.
  • Develop problem statements, hypotheses, target-state concepts, and initial scope definitions for guided investing capabilities, features, and journey enhancements.
  • Support the evolution of the ladder-into-Wealth strategy by identifying where guided experiences, prompts, tools, and hand-offs can improve client progression toward advice pathways.
  • Conduct external scans, internal analysis, and cross-functional intake to identify unmet client needs, strategic gaps, and high-potential areas for investment.

    Business Casing, Sizing & Strategic Recommendations

  • Build business cases for guided investing opportunities, including strategic rationale, client value proposition, benefit sizing, dependency mapping, delivery considerations, and key risks.
  • Assess opportunities using data, client feedback, voice-of-client insights, competitive intelligence, and operational considerations to inform prioritization and sequencing.
  • Prepare executive-ready recommendations, strategy materials, and decision support documents that clearly articulate the case for investment and required trade-offs.
  • Partner with Digital, Technology, Data, and Wealth teams to translate strategic concepts into business requirements, roadmap inputs, and phased delivery options.

 

Cross-Functional Alignment, Governance & Execution Support

  • Work closely with Digital, Technology, Data, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Wealth partners to ensure guided investing opportunities are viable, aligned, and decision-ready.
  • Support governance by identifying risks, assumptions, dependencies, and trade-offs across scope, timing, investment, and client impact.
  • Contribute to the development of measurement approaches for guided investing outcomes, including adoption, engagement, conversion, and hand-offs into advice.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Contributes to a high-performance environment and an inclusive work environment. 


Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Strategy, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in strategy, consulting, digital product strategy, wealth management, financial services, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience in discovery, opportunity assessment, business casing, and recommendation development for digital products, investing journeys, or client experience initiatives is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, structured problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to synthesize data and ambiguity into clear strategic recommendations.
  • Knowledge of investing, wealth, digital journeys, or advice-related business models is preferred.
  • Experience working across cross-functional teams in agile or matrixed environments is an asset.
