Supports governance of Physical Security programs globally ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Support the global governance of Physical Security programs, ensuring consistent adherence to enterprise-wide standards, policies and procedures
- Manage oversight mechanisms to monitor compliance across regions, holding stakeholders accountable to internal requirements and applicable local regulations.
- Maintain and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and risk metrics to measure the effectiveness and maturity of Physical Security programs at enterprise level.
- Manage the development of high-impact reporting and insights to senior leadership, enabling data-driven decisions and continuous improvement across the global Physical Security landscape.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Create an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
- Build a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
Do you have the skills required to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- An undergraduate degree, college diploma and/or equivalent related experience
- High degree of fluency in English required; French/Spanish desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within a corporate or government security department or organization with similar complexity to Scotiabank’s operations.
- Experience in developing and managing key performance indictors (KPIs), risk dashboards, and compliance reporting
- Experience in supporting and/or leading high-performance teams.
- Experience in operational planning and execution.
- Financial industry physical security experience considered an asset
- Familiarity with physical security measures, current innovations/technologies, and applications
