Title:  Manager, Finance Loyalty Reconciliations

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Finance (Loyalty and Partnerships), and partnering with the Loyalty and Partnerships business, the successful candidate will be accountable for the vendor payments, the liability reconciliation and settlement processes and maintaining robust financial and accounting controls.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Working closely with the Senior Manager of Finance, the successful candidate will play a significant role in all Loyalty redemptions, reconciliations and settlements.
  • Individual will be accountable for managing several settlement and reconciliation processes with internal and external partners pertinent to the loyalty partnerships involved with the program.
  • Individual will be accountable for managing accuracy and timely approval of vendor payments.
  • Individual will be accountable to ensure all reconciliations and documentation adheres to Scotia’s governance polices and are in accordance with SOX.
  • Strong ongoing collaboration and communication across several partners and stakeholders on a regular basis ensuring all teams are informed and up to date on the reconciliations and settlements.
  • Support the Senior Manager on ad-hoc requests from internal or external partners
  • Opportunity for growth within the business and to increase breadth and depth in a variety of finance activities.
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?  We’d love to work with you if you have:   

  • 3+ years in accounting and/or finance
  • CPA/CFA and Business Degree, strong background in accounting, finance, mathematics
  • Demonstrated experience in Financial Accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Excellent partnership skills with a proven ability to build strong relationships based on trust
  • Strong modelling, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience in Oracle Hyperion, SmartView, PeopleSoft, Alteryx Reporting is an asset
  • Excellent written, presentation and communication skills, ability to communicate on a broad spectrum (from operational discussions to high-level, executive vision)
  • Detail orientated with excellent analytical, critical thinking capabilities and problem-solving skills
  • Results-oriented, self-starter, with highly effective strategic influencing and negotiating skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with a proven ability to meet multiple deadlines and tasks
