Contributes to the overall success of the Enterprise Conduct and Ethics, Global Compliance & AML team by being accountable for specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Activities conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.The Manager, Enterprise Conduct and Ethics supports the Enterprise Conduct and Ethics, Global Compliance & AML team by creating/maintaining/enhancing various reports and insights for actionable decision-support for Senior Management and Executives.
Is This Role Right for You? In this role, you will:
• Champion a client-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Coordinate, support and maintain reporting for compliance senior management committees, including:
o Identify emerging risks and insights from data;
o Provide recommendations and solutions for new reporting needs;
o Support centralized compilation of conduct reporting related to quarterly and annual reporting requirements;
o Research and identify reporting efficiencies/automations, applying technical and conduct knowledge to the design of new enhancements and recommending/implementing solutions to centralize, streamline and automate reporting including access reviews and documentation; and
o Build and produce reports and dashboards as needed.
• Support conduct risk self-assessments using diverse approaches, techniques, and tools to identify trends and themes for analytics and reporting purposes. Provide second line oversight to identify trends/patterns and/or emerging risks.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders including Business Lines 2As, Business Risk Management teams and Corporate and Support functions related to data collection, reporting and insights to support the effective monitoring of the Conduct Risk program. This includes providing guidance on data interpretation, reporting requirements, and leveraging insights to identify risks and areas requiring mitigation.
• Organize and maintain reports, documentation, and related communications in line with Compliance reporting standards to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and completeness. Support the documentation and closure of audit issues and findings in a timely manner.
• Conduct external research and environmental scans to identify opportunities to enhance the conduct risk program leveraging industry best practices.
• Undertake such other projects and initiatives, as directed by Senior Manager, Enterprise Conduct and Ethics and the Director, Enterprise Conduct and Ethics.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Back up support for Senior Managers within the team during absences or peak periods.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s ScotiaBond values and behaviours, our Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do You Have the Skills?
- At least 5 years of related experience in the financial services industry, preferably with compliance, and/or risk management function.
- Highly developed analytic/problem solving skills, and business analysis.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- High degree of flexibility, strong organizational and time management skills are required to adapt to a wide variety of tasks and functions.
- Good judgment and attention to detail, as it relates to reporting, but also in researching matters and providing advice and counsel. · Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
Preferred:
- University degree in Business Management, Computer Science, Business Analysis or a related discipline
- Working knowledge of data visualization software such as Power BI, Excel, etc.
- Working knowledge of VBA and report automation methodology
- Fluent in Spanish is an asset but not a requirement
- Knowledgeable about Scotiabank organizational structure, risk management, operational procedures, and generally understand the business activities, products and services offered by the business units would be an asset.
