Purpose

 

Contributes to the overall success of the Global Corporate Affairs Social Impact Employee Engagement team, contributing to the overall success of the Bank’s employee community engagement programs in effort to help build e employee pride in working for Scotiabank, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

 

Program Management

 

  • Management of Scotiabank’s overall Global Employee Engagement program and digital platform (Benevity), with regular content updates, profiling volunteering and giving opportunities for employees across our markets.
  • Engage with existing charity partners to explore potential volunteering and giving opportunities.
  • Program support for employee inquiries through the different channels owned by the team (engagement platform and centralized inbox).
  • Support bespoke group volunteer opportunities when needed.
  • Management and implementation of Scotiabank employee engagement programs; Volunteer Rewards, Team Matching and Board Matching.
  • Collaboration with the Senior Manager, Employee Giving to help achieve our annual goals around employee donations, volunteerism and participation through platform optimization, promote volunteer opportunities and regular reporting

 

Governance and Reporting

 

  • Support the Senior Manager in the development and distribution of regular updates to the Employee Engagement Dashboard that provides leadership with the key metrics, key performance indicators and insights related to our goals.  Manager is accountable for data retrieval and management of 3rd party data platform (Benevity/Spark).
  • Ownership and upkeep of Employee Engagement program policies, procedures and guidelines.  Subject matter expert for the Enterprise. 

 

Communications and Activation

 

  • With support from Senior Manager, collaborate with Marketing, Corporate Communications and other Functional groups and Business Lines to drive internal awareness and adoption of Scotiabank’s employee engagement platform and promote employee programs, including the annual Employee Giving Campaign.
  • Ideate and deliver mass activation for various Allyship initiatives including Pride Month, Black History Month, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, International Women’s Day, Moose Hide Campaign, and others. Lead marketing and communication effort to drive employee pride and engagement.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AMUATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AMUATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

  • The incumbent will operate with the direction of the Senior Manager, Employee Engagement.
  • The incumbent’s responsibilities are highly specialized, and the work environment is dynamic.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have the following: 

 

  • Undergraduate university degree
  • Experience working with donors, volunteers and commitment to a team approach
  • Experience building relationships with individuals and external organizations
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of current trends and resources related to giving industry and volunteer management
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to learn and manage external reporting platform
  • Spanish fluency is an asset but not required

  • Mix of virtual and in-office work environment with the expectation of three days being spent in-office
