The position plays a critical role in Operations Control and Business Intelligence Team, supporting the design, development and implementation of strategies related to operational efficiencies, automation and processes improvement. The position is part of a team responsible for end-to-end digital reengineering solutions aiming to find efficiencies across Global Operations. The incumbent will apply project management skills to support multiple initiatives and attain the effective and efficient implementation of the plan.





•    Design and implement stage-gating processes to improve operational efficiencies.
•    Assist in the development of project charters, as is and to be process flows, and related documents.
•    Support automation via development of Adobe Experience Manager - Forms, Excel VBA Macros and any other tool to automate tasks.
•    Manage multiple projects using Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket, along with other tool kits.
•    Support all applicable responsibilities and initiatives on an Enterprise level, working collaboratively within teams, locally and in-country.
•    Provide support with the development of training and communication strategies.
•    Aid in – and occasionally lead – the facilitation of training and support user groups and affected parties both in person and online.
•    Engage with project team members and key stakeholders across countries, business lines, channels and other support areas to help foster alignment and support for operational improvement initiatives.
•    Contribute to the identification of risks and/or areas of opportunity to improve the delivery and ultimate success of planned activities.
•    Provide support to the Senior Manager as required in other areas falling under the portfolio.
•    Support in the development of Executive communication materials including dashboards, critical KPIs reports and summary materials.
•    Support in the ongoing interaction, strategic partnership and relationship management with all involved Business Lines and Departments (Canadian Banking, International Banking, 2nd Line, Technology, etc).
•    Contribute to the overall success of Global Operations across Scotiabank’s footprint ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Requirements & Qualifications:

•    Undergraduate degree in Business or related field. Graduate degree is an asset.
•    5+ years of banking experience with expert knowledge of back office fulfilment processes, banking operations, as well as branch systems, tools and reporting.
•    Yellow or green belt is an asset.
•    Programming experience is an asset, JavaScript, VBA preferred.
•    Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and good business judgment.
•    Strong written and oral skills in both English and Spanish.
•    Proficient PC skills, including Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel.
•    Strong co-ordination, strategic influencing, and people management skills, to facilitate strong teamwork and coordinated execution of multiple deliverables.
