Purpose


The Manager, Data Products serves as a Corporate Banking, Lending, and Deposits Data Lead within Global Banking and Markets. The role supports the governance, management, quality, architecture, and delivery of data across the domain. Depending on business priorities, the role may support the development, delivery, and lifecycle management of governed, reusable data products for the Global Banking and Markets (GBM) business within Scotiabank.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Lead, the role translates business and regulatory needs into clear data requirements and coordinates execution across business, technology, architecture, modeling, and governance teams. The role also manages day-to-day execution for assigned data products and helps ensure they are trusted, usable, discoverable, and fit for business, regulatory, analytical, and operational use.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Act as the data lead and subject matter expert for Corporate Banking, Lending, and Deposits data, processes, systems, and controls.
  • Coordinate data priorities across business, technology, governance, data producers, and consumers.
  • Translate business and regulatory needs into data requirements, mappings, models, controls, business rules, and delivery plans.
  • Lead data governance activities, including data quality, metadata, lineage, ownership, and issue remediation.
  • Maintain business definitions, data dictionaries, lineage, requirements, operating procedures, and governance artifacts.
  • Monitor data quality, service levels, adoption, and user feedback to improve the reliability and value of delivered data capabilities and products.
  • Manage roadmaps, backlogs, priorities, dependencies, risks, milestones, and delivery activities for assigned data initiatives and products.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, modelers, platform teams, Data Stewards, and Data Owners to design, test, and deploy reusable data products, common data models, and data services.
  • Promote data product adoption through stakeholder engagement, training, communication, and consumer support.

 

Education / Experience / Other Information

 

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in financial services, enterprise data, data products, governance, business analysis, or technology delivery.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Banking, Lending and Deposit products, processes, and data flows
  • Experience translating business or regulatory needs into data requirements, mappings, business rules, quality controls, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience with data quality, metadata, lineage, data dictionaries, source-to-target mapping, common data models, and issue management.
  • Experience working with business leaders, data producers and consumers, engineers, architects, modelers, Data Stewards, and Data Custodians.
  • Working knowledge of Agile product delivery, backlog management, testing, release readiness, and project delivery.
  • Strong analytical, review and challenge, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Post-secondary education in business, finance, computer science, engineering, data, mathematics, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
