Purpose

 

The Manager, CDO Business Operations contributes to the overall success of the Canadian and International Chief Data Office (CDO) and supports the Director and Sr. Manager, CB Data Governance & Operations to design, implement, and operationalize the data quality framework and data quality issue management across business domains. The role ensures that critical data elements are accurate, complete, consistent, timely and fit-for-purpose to support regulatory reporting, analytics, operational excellence, and strategic decision making

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will: 

 

Data Quality & Business Support:

  • Support the execution of the enterprise Data Quality Management Framework, including the design, enhancement, and validation of data quality rules and controls across critical data elements (CDEs).
  • Implement and oversee data quality issue management workflows, ensuring clear ownership, SLA tracking, escalation, and timely resolution of issues.
  • Partner with business lines to support remediation of data quality issues and monitor ongoing data quality performance, trends, and risks.
  • Collaborate with data owners, data stewards, CDO Leads, and Data Management Execution Leads to embed data quality accountability and support consistent implementation of data policies, standards, and procedures for prioritized use cases.
  • Provide guidance to business lines on data quality best practices and support the identification and resolution of material data‑related issues.
  • Support stakeholder management, reporting, and governance activities, including coordination of meetings, development of presentation materials, and facilitation of domain‑level data quality forums and working groups.
  • Identify, recommend, and support process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness across data quality monitoring and remediation.
  • Work closely with enterprise data governance, senior management, and business and technology stakeholders to support data management initiatives across the organization.
  • Champion a data‑driven and customer‑focused culture, actively share knowledge to support team development, and contribute to a high‑performance, inclusive work environment while supporting other priorities as required

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline, with 2–5 years of experience in data quality, data governance, or data management related roles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly translate data quality and data management issues into business impact for non‑technical stakeholders and engage with business stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of data management concepts, processes, and tools (e.g., Collibra, JIRA, Confluence), with familiarity in SQL and cloud platforms such as GCP considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and remain effective in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and relationship‑management skills, including the ability to prepare materials, brief senior leaders, and drive collaboration across diverse internal teams.
  • High degree of flexibility, with strong proficiency in standard business tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and a willingness to support work beyond core responsibilities as needed.
