Purpose
The Manager, Data Change & Intelligent Automation supports the delivery of the High Value Payments Modernization Program by executing data‑related change initiatives and contributing to the design, implementation, and operation of advanced analytics and LLM‑based agent capabilities that augment processing, analysis, reconciliation, and exception management across payment platforms and downstream consumers.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Change & Intelligent Automation, this role is accountable for hands on analysis, coordination, and execution of data change activities, ensuring impacts, dependencies, reconciliation requirements, and automation use cases are clearly documented, tested, and operationally ready. The incumbent works closely with Technology, Operations, Finance, and Risk partners to support safe delivery of target state payment capabilities in alignment with enterprise control and governance standards.

Contributes to the overall success of Global Transaction Banking globally, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedur. 

 

What you will be doing:

  • Supports data change strategy execution across High Value Payments initiatives, including system migrations, data model changes, and downstream impact remediation. 
  • Performs detailed data impact analysis across accounting, settlement, reconciliation, reporting, and operational consumers.
  • Supports data migration planning, cutover preparation, and parallel‑run execution, including reconciliation setup and issue tracking.
  • Produces clear documentation for data flows, impacts, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
  • Contributes to the design and implementation of applied LLM‑based agent and analytics use cases (e.g., reconciliation analysis, exception triage, lineage analysis, reporting support).
  • Works with Technology and Data teams to help configure, test, and validate agent‑enabled capabilities in controlled environments.
  • Ensures automation solutions operate within defined business rules, controls, and human review processes.
  • Supports testing, validation, and operational readiness activities for intelligent automation solutions.
  • Assists in identifying data and automation‑related risks, defects, and quality issues.
  • Ensures documentation and evidence support audit, risk, and compliance expectations.
  • Operates in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and risk culture.
  • Partners with Operations, Technology, Finance, Treasury, Risk, Compliance, and Data teams to execute assigned deliverables.
  • Translates technical and analytical findings into clear, structured updates for senior stakeholders.
  • Supports stakeholder communication by preparing materials, summaries, and decision support artifacts.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve data quality, reconciliation efficiency, and operational insight through analytics and automation.
  • Contributes to the evolution of data and automation standards, templates, and best practices within the Payments change function.
  • Actively builds knowledge in payments processing, data change, and intelligent automation capabilities.

 

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of experience in payments, banking operations, data analysis, technology delivery, or transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to high value payments (e.g., wires, clearing, settlement) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with analytics tools, automation platforms, or LLM‑enabled solutions for applied business use is an asset.
  • Strong documentation, coordination, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting, reconciliation, and control frameworks within a banking environment.
  • Experience designing LLM‑based solutions, analytics platforms, or automation capabilities for applied business use is a strong asset.
  • Strong documentation, governance, and stakeholder management discipline

Working Arrangement:

  • This position is currently an on site role, with the expectation that you will work 4 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.  Regular travel based on business need will be required between our Toronto and Scarborough offices
