The Manager, Risk Culture Enablement, will be responsible for championing ScotiaTech’s risk culture by driving awareness across the Bank. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Training, the Manager will oversee mandatory training courses, presentations, and programs, as well as develop new risk culture enablement materials for the Bank. Additionally, the Manager will create and maintain detailed online dashboards and reports on risk culture activities and outcomes, ensuring alignment with Scotiabank’s risk appetite and strategic objectives.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Lead risk culture enablement projects, collaborating with industry leading third parties and internal partners to deliver training and promote best practices globally.
  • Research and utilize new technologies to develop risk culture enablement programs.
  • Develop, coordinate and facilitate risk culture training sessions for targeted groups of employees across the Bank.
  • Be passionate about promoting risk culture and empowering employee to apply risk culture principles in their day-to-day roles and protect the Bank from cybersecurity threats.
  • Develop, socialize, and implement plans, addressing obstacles and applying monitoring tools to achieve desired outcomes and stakeholder behavior.
  • Create and maintain detailed reports on risk culture enablement activities and outcomes.
  • Effectively manage projects, share best practices and insights, and confidently deliver presentations to stakeholders and business leaders.
  • Collaborate with various business lines, IT support functions, and Control functions across the lines of defense.
  • Collaborate with suppliers under services agreement with the Bank in the delivery of specialized training.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • 5 years of training experience or similar, with the ability to plan, develop and execute training materials in various formats
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, PowerPoint)
  • Solid relationship building and relationship management skills
  • Familiarity with Canadian financial services regulations
  • Experience in cybersecurity, technology, risk management and/or compliance is an asset
  • Spanish and/or French proficiency, will be an asset.
