Job Purpose:

The manager, customer management life-cycle is part of GRM Retail Risk Credit and Life Cycle team of Caribbean and Central America (C&CA). The manager will design, develop and implement risk strategies for C&CA to maximize risk adjusted return by using sophisticated data mining techniques. The incumbent will Identify opportunities for better management of existing strategies and processes including but not limited to line management, authorization, reissue and cross selling.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage credit risk strategies either directly or by governance and oversight across the credit life cycle stages for C&CA
  • Provide appropriate reporting and analysis for all strategies across the credit life stage
  • Closely monitor performance to ensure each strategy is delivering both optimal profitability and is aligned with the credit risk appetite
  • Derive continuous improvement in strategy effectiveness with focus on incremental risk adjusted return
  • Leverage Champion/Challenger capabilities wherever possible to confirm assumptions and justify changes
  • Identify new trends and best practices in credit risk lifecycle
  • Subject matter expert on life cycle risk technology projects. For example, TRIAD, FDR, TSYS
  • Provide forward looking challenges and its strategic implications for the portfolio, and recommend actions to Senior Management
  • Provide input, support and communication for the development of ad-hoc portfolio analyses, risk appetite measures, acquisition due diligences, audit and regulatory compliance reviews

 

Functional Competencies:

  • Proficient with statistical analysis and data mining tools/languages such as SAS, SQL or Python
  • Ability to access complex data sources, manipulate data and execute code/queries to provide high quality analysis (SQL and basic ETL concepts a bonus)
  • Familiarity with BI tools and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Cognos
  • Knowledge of credit scoring and risk assessment as well as portfolio management and behaviour 
  • Prior experience in a retail lending environment or credit risk management is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and written skills complemented with analytical & problem-solving skills

 

Experience/Education:

  • University degree in relevant STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
  • 3 years of proven experience in an analytic role, with experience in retail portfolios
