As the Manager, Credit Policy & Process, Business Banking, you will be responsible for evaluating business opportunities and leading the formulation and execution of policy and process enhancements supporting the Business Banking segment. You will represent Business Banking and collaborate with various internal partners (Risk, Product Teams, Adjudication, Collections etc.) on initiatives to improve the Business Banking customer experience and to generate revenue growth. You will also deliver policy recommendations to Senior Management while working with multiple stakeholders and partners to facilitate the development of new risk-reward opportunities.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge to move initiatives forward
- Drive policy changes and enhancements in order to facilitate the development of risk-reward strategies that will drive growth in assets, revenue and/or profitability for the Business Banking portfolio while maintaining an optimal risk-reward balance
- Identify growth opportunities that fit within the optimal risk/reward balance and make recommendations to Senior Management on initiatives to implement
- Manage the implementation of initiatives, working with key stakeholders on recommendations, approvals and communications in order to meet P&L goals
- Monitor Risk KPI metrics to identify issues and opportunities in order to maximize revenue and grow profitable market share for the Business Banking segment
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
- Ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Related post-secondary education
- Multiple years of work experience in a policy and process related role or credit related role, previous experience in risk is also a significant asset
- Awareness of key environmental factors in the Business Banking industry, including government and regulatory issues
- Advanced skillset using Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Solid understanding of business operations and risk for Business Banking products
- Strong business and marketing acumen
- Proven ability to influence and coordinate sometimes conflicting stakeholders
