The Manager, Compliance and AML, Data Quality is responsible for managing and contributing to the overall success of Compliance & AML Data Quality DevOps and data initiatives globally, across one or more Compliance and AML data domains. This includes ensuring that individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.

 

This role ensures that all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Manage and support the DevOps of the Compliance & AML Data Quality Monitoring Process, based on enterprise data guidelines and policies. This includes onboarding additional data domains, critical data elements (CDEs), and data quality (DQ) rules.
  • Manage and support the DevOps of the Compliance & AML Issue Management (IM) Process, aligned with enterprise data guidelines and policies.
  • Lead root cause analysis on data issues and collaborate with stakeholders (e.g., data stewards of other domains, system custodians, Enterprise Data Office) on remediation activities.
  • Provide regular communication to stakeholders on DQ/IM activities and status.
  • Collaborate with technology teams on DevOps activities for data quality monitoring and reporting, including planning, data analysis, and execution.
  • Support and participate in Compliance & AML data activities as assigned.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decision-making.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations related to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:

 

  • A university degree and at least 3 years of experience in a financial institution, preferably in governance, regulatory, or compliance domains.
  • Knowledge of business lines, products and services, and delivery channels in financial institutions, ideally in a Compliance & AML context.
  • Experience with Compliance & AML data processes (strongly preferred).
  • Experience in end-to-end, enterprise-wide DQ/IM initiatives.
  • Proficiency in designing and delivering reporting and dashboard solutions using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar.
  • Solid knowledge of data management, data modeling, data analysis, and data processing, with hands-on experience using tools/scripts such as SQL, Python, and BigQuery.
  • Hands-on data analysis experience in Hadoop, cloud, or other data platforms.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Project management accreditation such as PMP, PMI-ACP, or CSM (considered an asset).
  • CAMS certification (considered an asset).
