Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compliance/AML Finance this position will support and assist with the financial planning, reporting and analysis of the operating expenses for areas within Compliance/AML. The role will support Business as Usual Operations by ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed/ delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Provide comprehensive financial support for Compliance/AML, including profit planning, forecasting, management reporting, financial reporting and analysis.
  • Perform detailed analytical work to draw key messages and support Senior Manager in creating effective presentations for senior management and stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and the quality of information related to planning, forecasting, reporting, and allocations activities.
  • Monthly and Quarterly Reporting: Ensure timely completion of financial performance reports and commentary on trends and variances for multiple audiences, including FP&A Finance, Compliance/AML stakeholders, and business lines.
  • Forecasting Models and Reports: Responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of forecasting models, reasonability analysis files, and decks for monthly/quarterly management financial reports to Compliance/AML, Finance teams and Business Line stakeholders.
  • Journal Entries and Accruals: Completes journal entries and accruals as needed, in-source and EGL.
  • Forecast/Plans Updates: Responsible for the loading of forecast and plan updates in the applicable systems (Opex, Tier 4).
  • Business Line Allocations: Review and understand business line allocations for Compliance/AML transits in the Global Intra Group Services Tool (GIST).
  • Assist the Senior Manager, Compliance/AML Finance, in various reporting and analyses related to Compliance/AML.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager.
  • Partner with Compliance/AML stakeholders to provide timely support, transparency of information, and insights to support effective decision making and resource allocation
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders
  • Provide expense allocation transparency to the Business Lines CFO’s with detailed information as required
  • Communicate information to all necessary internal and external stakeholders, explaining financial transactions and resolving related issues.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • University degree with major in Business, Finance or Accounting.
  • CPA/CFA or MBA an asset
  • 3-5 years experience
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, including ability to create / manage large financial models, pivot tables.
  • Experience with OPEX, Hyperion preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), including ability to clearly convey information to non-finance professionals
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the perspective of continually seeking opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including members of the management team of Compliance
  • Strong planning and co-ordination skills required to simultaneously support multiple projects and complete deliverables on time.
  • Detail-oriented
  • Experience in developing/compiling management reports.
  • Experience with SharePoint an asset
