Manager, Compliance Finance reports to the Senior Manager, Compliance Finance, this position will support and assist with the planning, forecasting, Business Case review and performance reporting/analytics for the Compliance Transformation (CT) Project Portfolio and Business as Usual (BAU) Operations. The role will contribute to the overall success of the Compliance Program by ensuring business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed/ delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and applicable procedures. The primary focus of this position is to support the Compliance program by working with internal Compliance stakeholders and Finance teams to reconcile/develop and support the continuous improvement of financials for regulatory and management reporting purposes.
Accountabilities
Management Reporting, Forecasting & Planning
- Manages monthly and quarterly reporting (financial performance, and commentary on trends and variances) for multiple audiences, including FP&A Finance, SIP, Steering committee and business lines
- Supports the maintenance and production of forecasting models, trackers and reporting decks used to prepare monthly/quarterly management financial reports to Compliance and Business Line stakeholders.
- Develop and tracks the Amortization forecast and impact to the P&L.
- Leads monthly financial calendar and processes to ensure deadlines are met for: forecasting, accruals, EGL entries and invoices processing.
- Manages the DPMO Finance gatekeeper processes: Project closures, Overruns, Financial project change request (PCR) review, accruals review, payment of invoices, amortization dates, among others; ensuring bank’s policies and standards are being followed.
- Assists with the business cases development and review ensuring continued adherence to the Enterprise Delivery Framework (EDF). Ensures the funding tab (PAR) reflects the appropriate funding structure and required fields are updated in PPM.
- Assists in ensuring project financials are reconciled across multiple systems (Smart Stream, CAPPM, OPEX/OBI)
- Support the Senior Manager, Compliance Finance in various reporting and analyses in Compliance BAU
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager
Customer Service and Relationship Management - Partner with CT project and BAU management teams to provide timely support, transparency of information, and insights to support effective decision making and resource allocation
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders (Enterprise Business Investments (EBI), Compliance, Technology, Project Controls, FP&A and other Corporate Functions Finance teams).
- Provide expense allocation transparency to the Business Lines DPMO’s with detailed information as required
- Communicate information to all necessary internal and external stakeholders, explaining Financial transactions and resolving related issues.
Leadership & Employee Engagement - Facilitating a customer focused culture with strong performance orientation and open communication
Education & Experience - University degree with major in Business, Finance or Accounting.
- CPA/CFA or MBA an asset
- 3-5 years experience
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, including ability to create / manage large financial models,
pivot tables. - Experience with Smartstream, CAPPM preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), including ability to clearly convey
information to non-finance professionals - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the perspective of continually
seeking opportunities for improvement. - Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including members of
the management team of Compliance - Strong planning and co-ordination skills required to simultaneously support multiple projects and
complete deliverables on time. - Detail-oriented
- Experience in developing/compiling management reports.
- Experience with SharePoint an asset
