Contributes to the overall success of Digital Banking in Canada, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered to support the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, and internal policies and procedures. 

 

As our Manager, Community Engagement, you will be a champion of Digital Banking’s culture. Your responsibilities will include bridging and managing relationships within Scotia’s Design and Digital Product communities, and across the broader Canadian Banking organization, through the power of shared experiences. You will be the point of contact for all events, virtual and/or onsite. You love a good workback schedule, and you’re a fierce advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion when it comes to building community.

 

Is this role right for you?

 

  • Build and deepen relationships across the Digital Banking and Canadian Banking organizations to amplify events, communities, and knowledge for Digital Banking employees
  • Manage an engagement model that supports Communities of Practice (CoP) across Design and Digital Product 
  • Manage logistics for all small, medium, and large-scale events, including financing, content, and communication for annual marquee events and recurring community events
  • Amplify key strategic messages across engagement mediums (Slack, CoPs, Events, etc.)
  • Engage and develop relationships with vendors
  • Animate the office space, promoting a culture of learning, curiosity, and excellence of craft
  • Develop virtual, physical, and hybrid spaces where employees stay connected, engaged, and informed, while also heightening their sense of community and belonging
  • Support and engage CoPs to encourage sustained and valuable hybrid experiences
  • Understand how the bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to a diverse and inclusive work environment


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

 

  • 2–5 years of experience in event management 
  • 2–5 years working in enterprise-level organizations
  • Proven project management and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects at once
  • Ability to write and edit clear and concise communications
  • Attention to detail and time management are essential
  • Comfortable working in a self-guided manner and radiating skills outward to equip Communities of Practice to plan their own events
  • Design experience considered an asset
