The role:
Contributes to the overall success of Workplace Transformation and Ways We Work & Where (W4) programs in Canada, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Develop and execute program-level communication strategies for Workplace Transformation and W4 Programs as well as communication materials and playbooks for other programs and projects as needed.
- Create, deliver, and update communications content and material (i.e., documents, graphics, digital internal website content, videos, photo posts, presentations, blogs, physical signage, brand development, etc.) in support of Workplace Transformation & W4 projects.
- Create and manage multiple Viva Scotia and Viva Engage sites for Workplace Transformation and W4 projects. Responsible for conceptualizing, creating, and delivering content for these sites, working closely with stakeholders to design and deliver these, and measuring use and effectiveness of digital communications.
- Develop content and collaborate with key corporate functions across the Bank (e.g., Global Communications, Global Human Resources) to conduct internal awareness campaigns using a multi-channel approach (i.e., Viva Engage, Viva Scotia, MS Teams, email, newsletters, etc.) for Workplace Transformation and W4 programs.
- Support general Real Estate Department (RED) Communications through co-management of the RED Communications inbox, curating/hosting employee engagement events (i.e., Monthly learning sessions called ‘REDTalks’, AMA sessions with Real Estate executives), provide advise as needed to Administration/Operations Real Estate teams to maintain up-to-date public calendar of events, and encouraging employees to utilize internal websites to stay updated on departmental and Bank-wide news (i.e., Viva Scotia, Viva Engage).
- Lead medium to low complexity Real Estate change management projects within Senior Manager’s Change portfolio.
- Support Senior Manager, Change Management with end-to-end change management activities for designated change portfolio as needed. This can include attending meetings with key stakeholders, assessing the needs of impacted group(s), strategizing change activities, creating presentation decks, creating key messages, sending communications, delivering information sessions, and more.
- Support other Senior Change Managers with other duties as assigned, including communications and delivery support for low to medium touch change management engagements.
- Manage and respond to emerging requests for information associated with the content, production, distribution and overall quality of internal communications.
- Contribute to a culture of constant improvement by assessing and sharing communications and change management ideas for the team, colleagues, and in own work.
- Proactively draw on best practices to further own skills, competencies and provide thought leadership on strategic communications best practices
- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Minimum undergraduate university degree or certificate in English, Communications,
- Journalism, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in corporate communications and change management role, preferably in a financial services (or regulated) environment, or a complex multi-national.
- Experience in developing videos, online/digital communications, communications websites and graphic design.
- Knowledge and experience with multiple internal communication channels including social, intranet and digital communications.
- Superior verbal and written English communication skills including demonstrable creativity, accuracy and attention to detail. (Spanish is an asset).
- Familiarity with key principles, best practices and techniques for corporate communications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and/or Photoshop is an asset.
- Proven ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- The incumbent must be diplomatic, flexible, with a positive attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure and to deliver under tight timelines.
- Must also be proactive and creative, with strong, proven ability to plan and manage competing priorities, as well as ability to recognize and appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information.
