The role:

 

Contributes to the overall success of Workplace Transformation in Canada, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will: 

 

  • Develop and execute program-level communication strategies for Workplace Transformation as well as communication materials and playbooks for other programs and projects as needed.
  • Create, deliver, and update communications content and material (i.e., documents, graphics, digital internal website content, videos, photo posts, presentations, blogs, physical signage, brand development, etc.) in support of Workplace Transformation.
  • Create and manage multiple Viva Scotia and Viva Engage sites for Workplace Transformation. Responsible for conceptualizing, creating, and delivering content for these sites, working closely with stakeholders to design and deliver these, and measuring use and effectiveness of digital communications.
  • Develop content and collaborate with key corporate functions across the Bank (e.g., Global Communications, Global Human Resources) to conduct internal awareness campaigns using a multi-channel approach (i.e., Viva Engage, Viva Scotia, MS Teams, email, newsletters, etc.) for Workplace Transformation.
  • Lead medium to low complexity Real Estate change management projects within Senior Manager’s Change portfolio.
  • Support Senior Manager, Change Management with end-to-end change management activities for designated change portfolio as needed. This can include attending meetings with key stakeholders, assessing the needs of impacted group(s), strategizing change activities, creating presentation decks, creating key messages, sending communications, delivering information sessions, and more.
  • Support other Senior Change Managers with other duties as assigned, including communications and delivery support for low to medium touch change management engagements.
  • Manage and respond to emerging requests for information associated with the content, production, distribution and overall quality of internal communications.
  • Contribute to a culture of constant improvement by assessing and sharing communications and change management ideas for the team, colleagues, and in own work.
  • Proactively draw on best practices to further own skills, competencies and provide thought leadership on strategic communications best practices
  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Champion a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vision/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

 


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Minimum undergraduate university degree or certificate in English, Communications, Journalism, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in corporate communications and change management role, preferably in a financial services (or regulated) environment, or a complex multi-national.
  • Experience in developing videos, online/digital communications, communications websites and graphic design.

 

Change and Communication Skills:

  • End-to-End Change Narratives: Create and maintain cross-initiative messaging that simplifies complex program changes for diverse audiences.
  • Message Development: Draft emails, talking points, FAQs, announcements, and executive summaries for initiative-specific communications.
  • Content Creation & Design: Develop polished decks, infographics, and one-pagers; maintain templates, tone guidelines, and visual identity alignment; manage a repository of reusable communication assets.
  • Comms Cadence & Coordination: Build and maintain a cross-program communications calendar aligned with training, launches, and milestones
  • Channel Optimization: Analyze existing stakeholder communication forums to identify opportunities for message integration and improved engagement.
  • Digital Communication Strategy: Leverage digital platforms ( intranet, email, video) to deliver clear, consistent messaging and enhance stakeholder engagement.
  • Visual Storytelling: Create compelling visuals and infographics to simplify complex concepts and drive adoption.
  • Analytics & Optimization: Monitor engagement metrics for communications and adjust strategies to maximize reach and impact.
  • Deep understanding of change management principles and methodologies.

    Communication & Visual Design Needs:
  • Strong executive-level communication and presentation deck skills.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling ability; skilled at simplifying complex concepts.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools (e.g., SharePoint Intranet platforms, MS Teams, etc.).
  • Ability to design or oversee creation of visual content (infographics, decks, videos, podcasts) to support change narratives and strategies.
     
    Qualifications:
  • Prosci Change Management Certification.
  • Proficiency in Kotter’s 8-Step Change Model.
  • Experience in content design and visual storytelling, including digital engagement strategies.
  • Experience using analytics to measure communication effectiveness and optimize engagement.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (i.e. Adobe Creative Cloud).
