Purpose

The Manager, Analytics Engineering role is a hands-on technical expert responsible for designing, building, and optimizing the analytics data assets, analytical models, and self-serve assets that power GTB’s operational dashboards and advanced analytics and insights. The Individual contributor role plays a critical part in advancing GTB's data strategy by delivering trusted, scalable analytics solutions that improve operational efficiency, client experience, and risk management. The role requires a strong blend of engineering excellence, GTP domain understanding and the ability to collaborate and influence across multiple stakeholders like Product, Sales, Operations, Technology, and Finance teams.

 

 What You’ll Do:

  •  Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Execute and deliver on the GTB analytics engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with GTB business priorities using modern data practices that support GTB’s need for timely insights, operational monitoring, and predictive analytics.
  • Design and deliver robust, scalable data pipelines across GTB’s complex product ecosystem (payments, cash management, trade, liquidity, channels) globally across North America, Europe and Latin America
  • Partner with Technology on the delivery of the modernization effort of GTB’s data landscape, including cloud migration, data governance framework and practices like metadata management, automated data quality checks, and data observability.
  • Embed data quality checks, lineage, and metadata standards into all engineering workflows within the GTB Analytics ecosystem.
  • Partner with Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics teams within GTB Analytics to enable operational dashboards and advanced analytics like forecasting, Gen-AI integration.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Consistently ‘does the right thing’ to keep the Bank safe and fosters an environment where they, employees, customers, and stakeholders can speak up / raise concerns.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

 

 

What You'll Bring:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Information Systems, etc.); additional industry courses/designations (e.g., Cloud certifications, Governance certifications like DAMA) are an asset
  • 5+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or related fields
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Strong proficiency in modern data stack technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, dbt, Spark, Cloud data warehouses, orchestration frameworks)
  • Experience working in financial services or GTB domains is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across business and technology teams.

 

Work Arrangement:

Work in a standard office-based environment.
