Title: Manager, AML Data Analytics and Regulatory Reporting - 12-Month Contract
Requisition ID: 259506
Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.
The Manager scrutinizes and evaluates FINTRAC regulatory reporting with a focus on analytical procedures for effective reporting. Guided by Bank policy, the role receives direct supervision from the Senior Manager. Within a well-defined task, the Manager is expected to function independently while ensuring that management is kept informed and that problems and issues are escalated appropriately.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain data‑driven analytical solutions and automated reporting pipelines using advanced Excel, SQL, Python, and enterprise BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), enabling end‑to‑end FINTRAC regulatory reporting, data reconciliation, exception detection, and monitoring.
- Lead data quality oversight for FINTRAC reporting through completeness checks, validation rules, reconciliations, and control analytics, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance of source‑to‑report data.
- Provide technical leadership and data‑centric guidance to senior analysts on BAU operations and remediation activities, including data extraction, transformation logic, control execution, and issue investigation.
- Deliver consolidated, traceable, and well‑annotated AML regulatory reporting to senior management, demonstrating deep subject matter expertise in LCTR and EFTR, with a strong focus on data lineage, reporting thresholds, business rules, timeliness metrics, and data quality design.
- Conduct risk‑based data analysis to identify and assess AML/ATF risks arising from data gaps, system limitations, or process breakdowns, and escalate issues through appropriate governance forums supported by robust technical evidence and quantified impact analysis.
- Proactively identify, track, and communicate data anomalies, system defects, control weaknesses, and analytical gaps affecting regulatory reporting integrity, and actively contribute to remediation and enhancement initiatives across the full delivery lifecycle.
- Support operational implementation by developing data workflows, technical job aids, control documentation, and communication materials; contribute to data conversion and implementation strategies; deliver training; and provide post‑implementation analytical support to ensure data stability and compliance.
- Enhance AML regulatory reporting capabilities through ad hoc data analysis, efficiency and effectiveness measurement, root‑cause analysis of reporting defects, and critical, data‑driven assessment of end‑to‑end reporting processes incorporating stakeholder feedback.
- Prepare, validate, and explain audit and regulatory review materials, including data extracts, reconciliations, control evidence, and clear technical documentation of reporting logic, data transformations, and system behavior.
- Apply the Bank’s risk appetite, risk culture, and control expectations in day‑to‑day technical and analytical decisions, ensuring alignment with AML/ATF regulatory obligations and enterprise risk management principles.
- Drive effective and efficient AML regulatory reporting operations by designing, executing, and continuously enhancing data‑centric business controls that address operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk, in line with the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, Enterprise AML/ATF Global Handbook, and Guidelines for Business Conduct.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:
- A recognized undergraduate degree in a technical discipline (Information Technology, Finance, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field) and a minimum of three years of related experience.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, with hands‑on experience using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and Oracle databases to perform complex data extraction and analysis supporting AML regulatory reporting.
- Strong proficiency in Python, including hands‑on experience with libraries such as Pandas and NumPy, to perform data manipulation, validation, reconciliation, and advanced analytical tasks.
- Working knowledge of XML and JSON data structures, with experience reviewing, validating, and analyzing structured and semi‑structured data to support AML regulatory reporting, data integrations, and control execution.
- Proficiency in advanced functions in Microsoft Excel, such as VLOOKUP, nested IFs, SUMIFs, fuzzy logic, and VBA.
- Proficiency with data analytics and visualization/case management software (e.g., Tableau, eazyBI).
- A proven ability to critically assess, prioritize tasks, and deliver meaningful results in a fast‑paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of operational processes, including best practices, current and anticipated regulatory requirements, back‑office processes, and the end‑to‑end workflows between the front and back offices.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to exercise diplomacy and judgment to effectively work with end users, members of project teams, and stakeholders across the global organization.
- Proven ability to effectively analyze large amounts of transactional and case management data.
- A proven creative, self‑starter, results‑oriented, and highly motivated approach, with strong analytical skills applied to improving existing solutions and assisting in the development of AML/ATF strategies.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, particularly with respect to FINTRAC regulatory reporting (including LCTR/EFTR).
- Experience with SWIFT EFT, non‑SWIFT EFT, and LCTR reporting.
What's in it for you?
- Champion a high‑performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
- The opportunity to join a forward‑thinking organization where you are surrounded by a collaborative team of innovative thinkers.
- Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits plan.
