The Manager, AI Financial Management is responsible for executing core financial analysis, reporting, and cost monitoring activities related to AI spend. This role provides foundational support for transparency, budgeting, and optimization efforts across AI initiatives. The incumbent partners with Technology, Finance, and AI teams to track AI costs, produce insights, and maintain financial data integrity, enabling disciplined and efficient AI investment management.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Executes end-to-end financial tracking and analysis of AI-related spend across infrastructure, platforms, models, and data, ensuring visibility into key cost drivers.
- Maintains and enhances cost attribution models and reporting frameworks, improving accuracy and usefulness of AI financial insights.
- Performs in-depth analysis of AI cost drivers (e.g., compute consumption, model utilization, workload patterns), identifying trends, anomalies, and efficiency opportunities.
- Supports budgeting and forecasting processes by developing driver-based analyses, variance insights, and forward-looking projections for AI investments.
- Proactively identifies cost optimization opportunities (e.g., underutilized resources, inefficient workloads, model usage patterns) and recommends actions to the team.
- Develops and delivers recurring dashboards, performance metrics, and financial insights that inform stakeholder decision-making.
- Partners with Technology and AI teams to understand operational drivers of cost and validate financial assumptions and trends.
- Ensures data integrity and consistency across financial reporting, resolving discrepancies and improving data quality processes.
- Supports governance and control processes by applying financial policies, tracking adherence, and identifying potential risks in AI spend.
- Contributes to vendor financial management activities, including cost tracking, invoice validation, and basic benchmarking analysis.
- Continuously builds knowledge of AI/ML cost structures and FinOps practices, applying learnings to enhance analysis and insights.
- Interprets financial results and communicates implications clearly to stakeholders, escalating key risks or opportunities as needed.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- University degree in finance, business, or related field
- 3–6 years of experience in financial analysis, planning, or reporting
- Foundational understanding of cloud and/or technology cost drivers (AI exposure is an asset)
- Strong analytical and Excel/data skills
- Exposure to financial systems and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Apptio, cloud cost tools) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage data accuracy
- Effective communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
- Eagerness to learn and grow in AI FinOps and technology finance
