The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Engineer with deep expertise in modern front-end frameworks such as Angular and/or React to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade web applications. In this role, you will be responsible for building and enhancing digital platforms that support Global Banking & Markets operations, delivering high-performance solutions for a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

- Lead the front-end development team in designing and implementing robust, scalable, and maintainable web applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend developers to deliver high-quality software.
- Architect and implement reusable components and libraries using Angular or React.
- Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and best practices.
- Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.
- Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and agile ceremonies.
- Deliver solutions tailored to the needs of Global Banking & Markets, with a focus on performance, security, and reliability.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of project and technical documentation.
- Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow to develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of professional experience in front-end development with a strong focus on Angular (v10+) and/or React (v16+).
- Proven experience in leading development teams and delivering enterprise-grade applications.
- Strong understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern front-end tooling.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, state management libraries (e.g., Redux, NgRx), and component-based architecture.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and agile development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Test-driven development is essential.
- Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate and experience working in fast-paced development environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience in the financial services industry, particularly within capital markets or investment banking.
- Experience in any number of the following technologies is advantageous:
- Cloud Technologies (Kubernetes, OpenShift)
- Messaging Technologies (Kafka)
- Database / Data Store / Data Query Technologies (SQL Server, Mongo, S3)
