Purpose:

 

The Lead Programmer Analyst is responsible for leading and executing Automated Data Validations tasks for agile projects in big data environment. Candidate is expected to have strong hands-on scripting experience. Also, as part of this role, candidate is expected to provide leadership and guidance to offshore team, hands on work on managing and executing scripts and SQL queries deliverables, use and develop test cases and execute them leveraging automation framework.

Key Job Accountabilities:

 

• writing validation strategies based on project requirements.
• writing and executing validation cases using the automation framework
• providing sign offs for project / release tasks
• extensively work with Jira
• validate Tidal schedules
• being a part of the project demos and presenting the QA activities to product owners
• promote a culture of success, pride, performance, discipline, and creativity
• lead offshore team
• coordinate on-boarding activities
• be an effective spokesperson and champion for Data Engineering team
• working daily with the onshore team of developers, data analysts, dba-s, solution architects, scrum masters etc.
• reporting status of all activities weekly, daily

 

Skills, Experiences and Functiona Competencies:

 

• 5+ years of software development and release engineering experience
• 3+ years of test and deployment automation with 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
   • BitBucket/Git, Subversion, TFS, Mercurial
   • Agile SDLC competency leveraging tools like JIRA, Git and Jenkins (Nice to have) HP ALM
   • Atlassian stack experience will be preferred
   • Python,  Java, JavaScript, JQuery, VBA (nice to have)
• Understanding data models and data flow
• Hands on knowledge of Shell scripting
• Hands on knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem
• Extensive experience with SQL
• Strong grasp on automation

 

Education:

  • Bachelors degree or higher
