The Role
As a Lead Developer within BPM-Global Wholesale Operations, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining technology solutions that support complex wholesale banking processes. This senior-level role combines advanced programming expertise with leadership skills to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient systems that enable operational excellence across trade processing, settlements, risk management, and reporting.
You will lead development efforts and collaborate with business stakeholders and technology partners to ensure solutions align with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and the bank’s strategic objectives.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Solution Design & Development: Oversee the creation and ongoing support of applications that help GWO utilities, while introducing automation and optimization to cut down on manual work and boost efficiency.
- System Analysis & Integration: Convert business needs into detailed technical requirements and manage their execution.
- Technical Leadership: Champion best practices in software development and DevOps, ensuring code is reviewed for quality, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Risk & Compliance: Ensure that all solutions comply with applicable regulatory standards and internal security policies, while maintaining thorough documentation to support audits and compliance assessments.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work alongside teams in operations, risk, and technology to ensure timely and accurate project delivery. Serve as a subject matter expert on technology solutions within GWO.
- Innovation: Investigate new technologies like AI, cloud computing, and APIs to improve how operations work. Support key strategies including automation, data analytics, and adopting AI solutions.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years in software development
- Experience in financial services
- Proficiency in programming languages (Java, C#, Python).
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (SQL, Oracle) and data modeling.
- Experience with APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- 3+ years of work experience as a React.js and Node.js developer.
- Experience building scalable, enterprise level technology stacks with JavaScript but ideally with a broad set of tools
- Experience working on projects that involve Application Security like oAuth2 and/or SSO
- You have experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
