Scotiabank’s Global Technology Services (GTS) – Implementation & Production Management’s QARun team primarily handles the processing of domestic transactions and requests from various departments across the bank. The team uses HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT) and Visual Basic (VB) to run automation scripts that manage transaction loads across various banking applications.
As part of your daily responsibilities, you will ensure that production operations are completed within established SLA timelines. You will be accountable for executing all assigned projects and tasks with thoroughness, accuracy, and timeliness.
While we currently operate under a hybrid work model, this role requires onsite presence at either 2201 Eglinton Avenue East or 888 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, as needed.
Additionally, you will be expected to provide off-hours on-call support and participate in service disruption bridge calls when required, ensuring continuity and responsiveness during critical incidents.
Is this role right for you?
• You are eager to perform application and batch monitoring by using best of breed workload automation to ensure operational risk is mitigated to prevent service outages and monetary impact to the bank.
• You are adept at evaluating and investigating the production problem logs to identify the appropriate actions to be taken.
• You want to be a part of providing technical assistance, UAT Support, post-project production support and production operational support.
• You are fine with preparing and updating instruction/document to the users and providing training to the operators.
• You thrive on consistently meeting and/or exceeding user expectations pertaining to the delivery of Domestic batch processing.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
• You have excellent verbal & written communication skills.
• You possess interpersonal skills to build ongoing relationship with our business clients and other business partners.
• You have at least 1+ year of hands-on technical working experience in the use of HP UFT & VB to run automation scripts to handle the load of transactions.
• You can demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
• You possess an attention to detail, strong troubleshooting skills, an ability to multi-task.
• You can adapt to change in process/procedure to accommodate our customers while focusing on risk mitigation and customer service.
• You can focus on timelines and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) to ensure they are achieved while working in an operations environment where potentially multiple issues are occurring.
• You can demonstrate working knowledge on basic troubleshooting principles with Network, LAN and TCP/IP concepts.
• Working knowledge of UiPath, Unix/DOS (Shell scripting) and SQL would be an asset.
• Familiarity of internal applications such as TSYS/AS400 Sessions or retail banking applications is an asset.
