BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Contributes to the success of the Investment Communications team, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Supports strategic product and investment communications across global wealth distributions channels, including a full suite of fee-based investment solutions. Delivers timely strategic and tactical insights and messaging on Scotia Wealth Management’s investment offerings for Wealth Advisors, Relationship Managers, and their teams.

 

Supports the broader Global Investment Solutions mandate through employee, advisor, business, fee-based, and other strategic communications initiatives. Brings design, layout, technical writing, creative and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrix environment. 

 

Success in this role requires initiative, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to quality and execution. Demonstrated expertise in investment communications and a solid understanding of market and industry trends are considered an asset.

 

IS THIS ROLE RIGHT FOR YOU

In the role you will:

  • Translate complex market, product, and investment information into clear, concise communications tailored to global wealth distribution channels.
  • Manage investment, market and product-related publishing on internal thought leadership platforms.
  • Ensure all communications align with brand, style guide, and other compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with stakeholders to execute advisor and client communication initiatives that strengthen the value proposition and competitive positioning of managed programs and other investment solutions.
  • Support investment solutions and product launches through the development of messaging, positioning, and promotional materials.
  • Build and maintain a holistic suite of investment communications that supports Wealth Advisors and Relationship Managers with timely, actionable and client-friendly insights. Monitor market developments and, in collaboration with SMEs, initiate timely updates on investment and portfolio implications.
  • Collaborate with partners to design best-in-class marketing collateral to deliver updates on investment strategies, portfolios, and markets. 
  • Support production (including formatting, publications, version control) and distribution of all investment communication collateral, including the flagship Global Quarterly Outlook Report.
  • Coordinate investment-related internal and client events, including calendar invites and logistics.
  • Support the build-out of agenda for regular meetings and calls with investment managers and internal partners. Participate in moderating money manager conference calls.
  • Design tracking and analytics to assess event participation and other engagement KPIs to inform future state for events and overall communications collateral.
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Actively solicit input from colleagues and other internal groups to develop and implement or improve communication programs and sales tools.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

DO YOU HAVE THE SKILLS

We would love to work with you if you have:

  • University degree in Business or Economics preferred.
  • CFA would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to articulate concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Sound knowledge of investment disciplines and processes within the investment industry.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the investment management industry, preferably in a high-net-worth environment.
  • Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to simplify technical and complex content into client-friendly materials.
  • Strong power point and presentation skills.
