Purpose of Job

The Change Management Lead will have overall responsibility for planning and executing the implementation activities for the launch of technology projects across 16 agile delivery labs. Leveraging deep organizational knowledge, the change management lead will support business readiness in technology projects by performing stakeholder analysis and impact mapping and creating an overarching change management plan to ensure that those impacted by the change have the support they need. This person will lead a change management team, overseeing the broader change management approach and ensuring it is applied across the digital transformation projects in Scotia Wealth Management.

 

Key Job Accountabilities

The Change Management Lead will succeed by creating strong partnerships in the business and ensuring key stakeholders feel comfortable with incorporating the new technologies into their businesses. Specifically, the Change Management Lead will:

•             Collaborate with key stakeholders in areas such as ScotiaMcLeod, Private Investment Council, Scotiatrust, Private Banking, Client Solutions, Technology, Training, Communications, Compliance and Legal to ensure business readiness.

•             Lead the change management team to ensure a consistent change management approach is being used across the projects. Ensure that the team is acting as advocates for the technology and developing their own relationships in the field.

•             Facilitate change management for iterative delivery from 16 agile labs

•             Support project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans.

•             Support the Managing Director, Client Experience Transformation to ensure that the business lines are receiving regular updates on the progress across our projects and aware of the work being done within the technology teams.

•             Ensure employees across Scotia Wealth Management are receiving regular updates on our technology projects through online channels, town halls and email communications.

 

Roles & Responsiblities:

•             Lead the change management team, overseeing the strategic direction of each change management initiative by applying a structured change management approach and methodology.

•             Oversee the change management team in developing a change management strategy based on a situational awareness of the details of the change and the groups being impacted by the change.

•             Ensure to escalate key change management risks to the leadership team as they are identified.

•             Oversee the change team in their stakeholder management process, ensuring early engagement of training, business line, operations and communications teams.

•             Oversee the change management team in creating and managing measurement systems to track adoption, utilization and proficiency of individual changes.

•             Create and enable reinforcement mechanisms including celebrations of success.

•             Work with project teams to integrate change management activities into the overall project plan.

•             Work with other organizational groups such as Communications, Learning and Development, and HR in the formulation of particular plans and activities to support project implementation.

 

 

Education and Other Requirements*

List required accreditations, certifications, licenses, etc., if applicable

•             5-10. yrs of experience in financial services industry;

•             Comprehensive knowledge of the financial industry;

•             Experience with training and development is an asset

•             Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).

•             Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

•             Excellent interpersonal skills;

•             Excellent relationship management skills;

•             Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment;

•             Ability to manage multiple tasks and work within strict deadlines;

•             Ability to work independently and cooperatively as member of a team;

•             Must be highly organized and able to deal with a variety of stakeholders across business and organizational units.

•             Knowledge of the wealth management business is an asset.

•             Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.       

•             Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization.

•             Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.

•             Excellent active listening skills.

•             Strong analytic and decision-making abilities.

•             An appreciation of how organizational changes impact people.

•             Exposure to training development and delivery.

•             Familiarity with change management principles and methodologies.
