The focus of the Illustration Lead role is to lead a team of illustrators to explore, elevate and evolve the illustration brand for Scotiabank. The right person for this role will be technically skilled, interested in the world around them, and fit within a collaborative work environment that encourages ideas and contributions from all team members. The Illustration Lead must have the ability to take in a wide range of briefs, think strategically and conceptually, and also execute with craft and an eye for detail. Strong presentation and communication skills are also important. The Illustration Lead will understand how to work within our brand illustration guidelines but also evolve the work in order to keep the brand fresh and relevant. Is this role right for you? In this role, you will: 

 

•    Supporting the Creative head with the development of concepts, strategies, and presentations.
•    Managing and supervising multiple projects and teams.
•    Ensuring resources are allocated according to project needs.
•    Directing the design and development of creative materials.
•    Ensuring bank’s brands identity and message consistency across channels.
•    Meeting briefs objectives, values, budgets, and deadlines.
•    Leading and participating in brainstorming sessions.
•    Keeping up with the latest trends, strategies, and technologies.
•    Evaluating creative team performance and guiding improvements.
•    You are a strong communicator that is able to work through issues with partners and provide solutions
•    You can work together with other leads to ensure consistency and optimization of resources
•    You can handle a wide range of projects with short and long timelines
•    You are constantly looking for new sources of technologies, techniques and processes to improve the work 
 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?  We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:


•    8+ years of experience in Illustration. Ability to innovate within existing brand guidelines to build branded and creative assets for presentations, print materials and digital signage as required
•    Post-secondary education in Marketing, advertising, Design, Communications, the Fine Arts or a related field.
•    A demonstrable portfolio of work which showcases your skills
•    High level of proficiency in Adobe CC, Figma, Keynote, PowerPoint, Word
•    A positive and resilient personality. You must be able to embrace feedback and have a desire for continuous iteration and improvement.
•    Comfortable working in a self-guided manner with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage your own time efficiently, without direct input or oversight
•    Ability to balance great proposal with short and sometimes uncomfortable deadlines.
