Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the ScotiaMcLeod Branch in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The Branch Systems Administrator’s primary focus is to ensure that all workstations, voice communications and multi functioning devices are running effectively.
Accountabilities
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Manages the workstations, voice communications and multi functioning devices by ensuring all technology is running at maximum efficiency, promptly responding to all technical issues affecting the operations of the branch and acting as the liaison with the ScotiaMcLeod Technical Helpdesk and the
- Technology Training Team to ensure efficient resolution to all issues, escalating issues as necessary.
- Ensures the Branch is prepared for rollouts and updates by ensuring all branch staff are advised of all new procedures affecting applications, and cascading communication regarding the dates, requirements, and training dates and acts as the primary point of contact for branch staff questions and support. The BSA also acts as the liaison with the Technology Training Team.
- Manages the technology administration by verifying and updating quarterly user reports, maintaining technology inventory list and processing WealthStore orders for new hires, transfers, and departures, managing issues and escalations as required.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

- Supports 5-50 employees and variety of proprietary systems
- Works in a regulatory environment with access to sensitive information.
- Work independently on specific tasks, ability to prioritize where required and escalate when necessary
Education, Experience & Other Information:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of Microsoft systems: Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Previous industry experience preferred
