Reporting to the VP, Global Wealth Management, the Head Salesforce Engineering and Architecture is responsible for creating, guiding and executing the Salesforce architecture for Global Wealth Management, acting as a technology advisor, strategist and governor of architectural and data management standards. The Head Salesforce Engineering and Architecture provides leadership and vision across the Wealth Salesforce Engineering function, while ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are supported in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures, as well as the overall technology strategy.


 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Responsible for building, leading, and managing multiple development teams delivering Salesforce solutions for Canadian Wealth Management, International Wealth Management, and Global Asset Management in an integrated manor.
  • Responsible for ensuring development of aligned business Salesforce technology roadmaps in collaboration with Wealth technology VPs and Wealth Management business line leaders.
  • Lead Salesforce architectural decisions for Wealth Technology including research of industry trends to understand alternative approaches and solutions.
  • Defines the Salesforce architectures and patterns that enables the standardization and reuse of data/artifacts/patterns both within Wealth Technology and at the enterprise level, supporting the strategic imperative of designing a cost effective, scalable and modern solution.
  • Collaborate with business SMEs and technology teams to create platform roadmaps that align and assist in moving business strategies forward.
  • Define, lead and execute a cohesive strategy designed to limit technological debt and to effectively manage transition from legacy systems to modern technology platforms, maximizing operational efficiencies.
  • Responsible for assessing key software assets of the Bank to ensure assets are not at risk from technology obsolescence and plans for retirement, extension, reuse, or consolidation.
  • Engage with the engineering and design teams to help determine the best technical implementation methods as well as a reasonable implementation schedule to launch products on a regular basis.
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders to ensure prioritization is driven by business value.
  • Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout the delivery teams to influence a client-centered design culture and to deepen relationships with business stakeholders and leverage broader bank relationships, systems, processes and knowledge.
  • Coach architects and foster the growth of the team into a high-performing Architecture delivery teams.
  • Participate in long-range strategy planning and manage policy development to address complex business issues.
  • Provide key technical support and guidance to RFPs (request for proposals) for vendor solutions.
  • Ensure Regulatory, Security and Privacy alignment considering such requirements as GDPR and PII requirements, at the global level.
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment, and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.


 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • University degree in related filed and/or comparable work experience
  • 15+ years’ experience in financial services technology and architecture, including a minimum of five years of leadership.
  • Expert knowledge of Salesforce  architecture, including business, data, infrastructure and security.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on enterprise Salesforce projects providing global, innovative solutions that improve the delivery of Wealth products in an agile environment
  • Relevant Salesforce accreditations required – including but not limited to: Integration Architect, Salesforce App Builder
  • Possess strong leadership and collaboration skills, excellent oral and written communication proficiency and strong planning ability and management orientation. Strong and efficient in conflict management.
  • Excellent knowledge of data management and enterprise architecture disciplines, processes, and accompanying technology, as well as sound understanding of automated application controls and core IT processes (e.g. application development, change management, information security, computer operations, business continuity, cloud deployment and services), and related risks and controls.
  • Strong capability in keeping current with rapidly changing technology to effectively apply technology to the solution of a business problem.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • The incumbent must be able to work closely with vendors, often representing both the technology and business interests, lead contract negotiations, delivering technology roadmaps and design, and provide oversight of services provided.  The incumbent must also be comfortable working with external user groups, participating in organized and niche forums and keeping abreast of industry and market standards as they relate to enterprise architecture and strategy.
  • Technology and Digital experience, with an understanding of AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, with exposure to digital transformation is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience managing strategy, process improvement and global transformations in large organizations, multiple geographies and operating models
  • Ability to champion change, inspire a shared vision and promote key values driving urgency and execution.
