The FINTRAC Reporting Analyst scrutinizes and evaluates FINTRAC regulatory reports with a focus on completeness, quality, and timeliness of reporting, specifically the Large Cash Transaction Report (LCTR) and Electronic Funds Transfer Report (EFTR). Guided by Bank policy, the role receives direct supervision from the Manager. Within well-defined tasks, the FINTRAC Reporting Analyst is expected to function independently while ensuring that AML Risk Management is kept informed and that problems and issues are escalated to the Manager and/or Senior Manager.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Review and correct Large Cash Transaction (LCT) and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) fields as needed prior to FINTRAC submission.
- Complete daily tasks assigned promptly to ensure FINTRAC reports are filed on time.
- Extract LCT and EFT daily reports and track the number of reports/transactions by entering figures into the appropriate tracker.
- Use Excel to review and update reports requiring quality control (QC) corrections.
- Escalate complex cases to the supervisor.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day‑to‑day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:
- A high school diploma is acceptable for candidates.
- Post‑secondary education (degree, college certificate, diploma, or undergraduate degree) is an asset.
- Prior experience in office environments, front‑line roles, or internship experience in a financial institution is considered an advantage.
- Training in anti-money laundering (AML) or compliance is an asset.
- Effective communication and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail when performing routine tasks to ensure consistency and quality.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software applications and tools.
- Comfort working with large amounts of transactional data and mastering repetitive tasks and workflows.
- Capability to handle multiple tasks and work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Maintaining organized records of training materials and procedural notes.
- Some familiarity with Microsoft tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
