Director – Event Coordinator, Wealth Insurance – 12 Month Contract
Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of Scotia Wealth Insurance Services (SWIS) by supporting the planning and execution of high-quality events and programs across Canada. These events/programs are highly visible and may involve clients, advisors, external business partners as well as senior-level executives.
What You’ll Do:
- In close collaboration with the Senior Product Manager works with project teams and partners to ensure the delivery of event/program logistics, and leads logistical planning where required
- Supports the management of all aspects of event/program execution, end-to-end, including: Drive timeline and planning for all events/programs
- Provides options for venue and vendor selection to ensure quality and appropriateness
- Interacts across project teams, business lines, external partners and vendor contacts
- Provides customer service and logistics support for attendees and presenters
- Consistently provides complete and timely pre and post communication of events and programs
- Collects post-project expense reporting and reconciliation
- May coordinate the purchase and shipment of event supplies and promotional items.
- Ordering and organizing event collateral, including name badges, table cards, event briefs, etc.
- Supports the management of event expenses, including verifying that invoices are aligned with cost estimates, obtaining the appropriate approvals for invoices, and submitting invoices and credit card expense reports in a timely manner.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Consistently ‘does the right thing’ to keep the Bank safe and fosters an environment where they, employees, customers, and stakeholders can speak up / raise concerns.

What You’ll Bring:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma
- Experience planning and executing events and programs
- Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills
- Solid written communication skills and strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS Teams and Adobe
- Experience in the financial industry and working with advisors is an asset
- Experience using event registration platforms is an asset
- The ability to speak/write in French is an asset
Work Arrangement:
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
- Occasional domestic travel may be required.
