In Velocity Strategic Functions, you will gain exposure to multiple business lines across the Strategic Functions of the bank by having a customized plan for your internship. Yes, you read that correctly, a customized plan for YOU. After successfully completing your first co-op or internship with us, we will work with you to establish a learning and mentorship plan that also outlines your next placement with us! Through returning for multiple terms in our program, you will get to learn, grow and experiment within different parts of our Strategic Functions ecosystem and have a clearer view of the business line you hope to join upon graduation.

You will gain experience in…

  • Strategic Projects
  • Support customized strategy development and advisory support at an enterprise and business line level, including research, analysis and compelling strategic recommendations that solve business problems
  • Gather data and perform financial analyses to diagnose issues
  • Create financial models to assess future state financial benefits / costs
  • Contribute in problem solving sessions, workshops and interviews with cross-functional and business line working team members and subject matter experts
  • Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to support the achievement of deliverables and overall objectives


Market, customer and competitive assessment

  • Provide key market, customer and competitive assessments for the overall Financial Services industry, as well as for specific project needs, including:
  • Key industry trends impacting Financial Services, including regulatory, customer, geographical, innovation, etc, leveraging external industry and analyst reports, as well as through monthly internal discussions
  • Key competitive insights (financial, market, innovation, etc.), including robust benchmarking of key performance metrics that would help surface gaps / opportunities
  • Review and generate insights using other internal reports 
  • Customer Insights & Analytics and Business Area Dashboards: Work closely with CI&A and business areas to generate specific data and analysis when needed
  • Leverage intel for strategy development and business area deep dives

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in business 
  • Able to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic business environment
  • Exceptional at planning and analytical skills, able to discern research information / data and focus on the critical business issues
  • Capable of effectively managing relationships across the Bank, partners and external vendors
  • Brilliant at presentation and written communication skills 
  • Recognized as an individual who has a track record delivering innovative solutions from concept to change management
